When my mother and I watched Matlock I always thought the theme song was cute and I want to know how Matlock ended up with a cool and fun theme song? When I hear it I get reminded of jazzy 1920's soul music and it reminds me of something the character Louis from Disney's The Princess And The Frog would play
This theme song is one of the funnest theme songs ever made and you just gotta love the cute whistle played at the end as well

Apparently the opening theme music for Matlock was composed by Dick DeBenedictis. I could not find much other information.
