I've been watching the Odd Couple Binge on Catchy Comedy. Last week was Laverne and Shirley. To me in many ways shows directed by Jerry Paris could be interchangeable. I would include some of his other show like Hey Landlord, Happy Days, and to a lesser degree The Dick Van Dyke Show.
If you look at scenes where the cast has congregated, usually a living room, the feel and tone seem the same through out episodes directed by Jerry Paris. Additionally, I'm thinking of the episodes done in front of an audience. So rule out the first season of the Odd Couple and the first 2 seasons of Happy Days. Now the first 4 shows I mentioned were created by Garry Marshall so perhaps he set the tone for the shows. Whose the one who set the tone of these shows? |

Per imdb, Paris directed 237 Happy Days episodes, 84 Dick van Dyke, 19 Odd Couple, 9 Hey Landlord, and one Laverne and Shirley. He didn't direct any Season 1 Dick van Dyke's, and I think was just moving from actor to director while on the show. Aside from Happy Days, I'm not sure if he had a chance to exert a strong influence on any of the shows.
