Isn’t ironic that the only time we saw Wally or the Beaver actually kiss a girl on the mouth on LITB, was when the “slightly” forward Ms. Holmes planted one on the callow Wally?

“The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis” was on tv during the same time LITB was on and we routinely saw the late Dwayne Hickman (as teenager Dobie Gillis) kissing beautiful girls on the lips.

And Diane Sayer (Marlene) indeed was on a Dobie Gillis ep. I don’t think she pulled out a pack of cigarettes tho.

I haven’t seen a lotta Dobie eps. I don’t recall even one time where he kissed on the lips, but then again, I haven’t paid much attention.

I think I read that “Dobie” intended a teenage audience, so maybe more “schmooching” (to borrow Lisa Douglas) was their order of the day.

I haven't seen "Dobie" in years. Dwayne Hickman might have enjoyed a few kissing scenes with Tuesday Weld.
