Default Show got better as kids got older

Its common knowledge that as the kids of a show get older and hit their teenage years a show generally becomes not as good (family matters, home improvement) Does anybody know of a show that started out with young kids but actually got better as the kids became older and less 'cute'

I can't really think of any off the top of my head. The main shows that I like that had kids on the show jumped when they got older. Main examples of that would be Diff'rent Strokes, The Andy Griffith Show, and Leave it to Beaver (Beaver growing up. Wally didn't bother me all that much when he grew older.)

Can I say Facts of Life for this one? They started off young teenagers, and I think it got better as they got older.

I thought Full House got better as the kids got older. I personally liked 8-year old Michelle better than little baby Michelle.

Family Ties. It got more interesting to me as the teens got older and handled adult issues.

The only one I can think of is The Facts of Life.

The Wonder Years. Hrm.. Married With Children. Even Roseanne too, I liked some of the storylines that revolved around teenage Darlene, SOME of them.

I agree with on Wonder Years when Winnie was always finding another boyfriend. Also on Married with Chidren even though the show got really strange and made no sense. Also agree on Roseanne with such good episodes revolving around Darlene and at times Becky.

Default Agreements and Disagreements

I too thought the Wonder Years got better with age. But I disagree with the assessment that Leave it to Beaver grew worse with the growth of the boys. I personally think the last year of the show was the best.

Here is another one

The Fresh Prince of Bellair

I thought that show got funnier ever year exept for the last season. Every character on that show was funny exept for the little kid Nicky thay added in the last two seasons. I don't know why they added him. Every charcter was funny especially Jeffry and Carlton. And I must say the actor who played Carlton is what Wayne Brady is not. Funny.

Roseanne was better when the kids got older, especially Darlene with her sardonic wit.

The Cosby Show could've been better with the kids being older...there was just one problem. None of the original kids got much airtime after season 5. Olivia and Pam basically took over the show.
