An I Love Lucy Mothers Day:

(Lucy is talking to Ricky as he is leaving for the Club Babalu.)

Lucy: “Now Ricky, why can’t me and my mother be in your Mother’s Day Show?”

Ricky: “If I toll you once, I toll you a thousand times, it’s because of what your Mom did to my club last year. We are still paying the damages for the broken windows.”

Lucy: “Ok. You didn’t TOLL me that and secondly your club is going to have shatterproof windows installed tomorrow.”

Ricky: “Lucy, if I see you and your mother there, I will take away your household allowance. See ya.”

(Ricky leaves.)

(Lucy calls Ethel. Ethel answers.)

Ethel: “Hello Lucy!”

Lucy: “Ethel, me and my mother are going to be in Ricky’s show at the club on Mother’s Day if it’s the last thing I do.”

Ethel: “It probably will be.”

Lucy: “Now, my mother is making this huge banner that will hang at the end of the performance. The banner will say: ‘Thank you Ricky Ricardo.’ After that, he won’t get mad.”

Ethel: “I hope not.”

(On the day of the show, Ricky performs “Babalu.” After that, Ricky is talking to Fred.)

Ricky: “Did you see the network executives and sponsors that are here? They look upset.”

Fred: “Are you kidding? For them, that’s funny.”

(The camera shows the network executives and sponsors looking upset.)

(Ricky begins the next number. He is startled when he sees Lucy & her mother singing Ricky’s song with Ricky. They are singing loudly and horribly. Ricky is embarrassed.)

(He gets even more embarrassed when Lucy and her mother reveal the banner and it says in big letters: “THANK YOU CLUBB BABYLOU AND ITS OWNER MICKEY MICARDO.” Lucy sees this.)

Lucy: “Ewwwww!”

(Ricky goes to Lucy. He is angry.)

Lucy: “Now Ricky! Ricky!”

(Lucy grabs a chair to defend herself as the skit ends.)
