What do you consider the top fifteen episodes and top ten guest performances? Here are mine in no specific order.

Top fifteen episodes:

1. Christmas at Plum Creek
2. The Raccoon
3. Child of Pain
4. If I Should Die Before I Wake
5. The Lord is my Shepherd
6. Remember Me
7. His Father's Son
8. At the End of the Rainbow
9. Haunted House
10. Going Home
11. The Collection
12. I'll Ride the Wind
13. The Bully Boys
14. The Music Box
15. Gold Country

IMHO, the first three seasons are the real show. Seasons 4-6 are good (Laura's growing up story and Albert's adventures) with a few flaws--mainly narrative decisions I disliked concerning Mary's growing up story. (Blind woman marries blind man, blind woman goes for help in carriage accident, forgetting to get child out of house fire, blind man gets his vision back, etc.) and of course the way they suddenly cut out the Edwards family.


Top ten performances:

1. Elmore Joseph Andre (Gold Country) An absolutely chilling performance. You could watch it only once and never forget it, especially his last scene.

2. Harris Yulin (Child of Pain)

3. Radames Pera (Remember Me/His Father's Son/Going Home/I'll Ride the Wind)

4. Ernest Borgnine (The Lord is my Shepherd)

5. Josephine Hutchison (If I Should Die Before I Wake)

6. Richard Baseheart (Troublemaker)

7. Patricia Neal (Remember Me)

8. Arthur Hill (Journey in the Spring)

9. Richard Mulligan (Soldier's Return)

10. John Anderson (Haunted House)
