Default Well, it's Happening, Nordstrom closing Stores

TJ, I keep getting Not Good News...

Nordstrom's decision to shutter two San Francisco stores at Fifth and Market streets, including its massive flagship at the Westfield mall after 35 years, is another gut punch to a downtown battered by the exodus of more than two dozen retailers during the pandemic.

https://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/artic...the%20pandemic.

Holding my breath to hear of Nordstroms in my town!!!!!

San Francisco has become an insane city of wanton crime and escalating drug use. Not to mention thousands of homeless people, homeless because they are drug addicts and/or alcoholics. People use the toilet on the sidewalk, people sleeping and passed out everywhere, drug needles and whatever else.

In Walgreens, the store is having to lock everything up to deter the thieves, and as long as the thieves steal less than $950, it’s a misdemeanor and no jail time. So why and how does San Francisco have any retailers left?

There's a price to pay for allowing criminals free reign.

Eventually it may dawn on people, this just ain't right.

Nordstrom was in a mall near me. They had a cafe - Had a Killer Orange-Cream drink and honey bun. More people are moving to online shopping.

At least it is one less retailer who will price everything ending in 99 (when they are doing this, they are calling us morons, which is insulting since we give them money) and play music in their stores. Seriously, why do they do that? They even pay to play *****ty music in their stores on some loop so that their employees (euphemistically called “team members”

I mean, is it any wonder that people go bonkers?

Similar things are happening in Manchester and London. If people don't enjoy travelling into the City, walking around for the ambience, relaxing with a coffee and making a purchase then they'll stay at home and shop online.

So so much is going out of business, closing down, and it's all exploded since early 2020...

What's next, who's next...

On this subject I get online ads from Macy's and they have raised their prices sky high....just a ordinary dress ad and it had a price of $201....they all have joined the worldwide recession.

I've been looking online to see which store to go to for a new cordless electric hedge trimmer. For practically every one I've looked at, every store's website says "Not available in store." So I'm forced to have one delivered sight unseen -- and since that's the case, I'll just say "to hell with it" and order one at a low price off of ebay or Amazon.
