Douglas Tibbles passed away April 12, 2023 at the age of 83.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, he graduated from University High School and attended courses at UCLA. His first marriage produced three children, Amy, John and Doug Jr.

With a natural comic flair and a way with words, he gravitated toward script writing for television comedy. His credits include "The Munsters", "Bewitched", "My Three Sons", "The Andy Griffith Show", "Love, American Style", "Family Affair", "Chico and the Man", "The Doris Day Show", "Mayberry R.F.D.", and "The Raquel Welch Special", among others.

He formed a production company with a partner and soon met Barbara Keith, a singer/songwriter about to sign with Warner Brothers. They fell in love, turned their backs on Hollywood, and began a musical odyssey that would take them to her native New England, where Doug realized his life-long dream of becoming a drummer and Barbara honed her skills. Joined by son John and later Doug,Jr., they formed the band The Stone Coyotes. Over three decades they released fifteen albums and toured extensively.

In recent years Doug turned increasingly to visual art. What had begun with the band's album covers expanded to collage, drawing, and digital expression. His work will be on display soon at several local venues and galleries.

At his request, there will be no service. Instead, watch "The Munsters", listen to his great drumming with The Stone Coyotes, enjoy his art, and remember the humor, charm, talent and power of our beloved Doug Tibbles.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, children Amy, John and Doug Jr., grandson John Tibbles, sisters Georgia Tibbles, Angela Westengard-Bush, Christine McBurney, and four great-grandchildren.

I can't find anything on this, but I'm wondering if his father was My Three Sons head writer George Tibbles.
