Default Jack wears a mustache episode-Missing footage!

Hey folks,

Did anyone catch this episode on Nick At Night a few days back? I flipped my lid when they totally cut out the Lane's Hair Salon sequence where Jack meets Lane for a mustache fitting. It was completely gone! Now that's a major butchering of a classic if I've ever seen one!

I went so far as to write NAN and they treated my letter with somewhat of a 'tude. It was short and to the point, stating that programming is a lot more expensive now than it was 20 years ago. Understood, but how can you remove a 2 to 3 minute scene relevant to the plot?

I've been watching the NAN episodes quite a bit lately and know exactly what they've taken out of them - it's really a shame. Anyone else share the frustration?

Yes i taped the episode the other night and it was pretty funny. But i never knew that footage was taken out of that episode. So i take you saw the original ABC airing of that episode. But who is Lane? you said jack went to Lane's salon for a mustache fitting and met Lane

His scenes would've been cut out since he'd probably only be in that scene. He'd be the owner of the salon.

I remember this scene and it wasn't the original airing that I saw it in. It was on UPN years ago when I taped them. I also taped "Up in the Air" where the majority of the Jack's hilarious dance scene had been cut out in tnn and n@n, but all there in upn airing(it was 2 full minutes of dancing they cut out).

TNN probably cuts out a lot of footage so they can show 5 minutes of commercials-I taped different strokes this week when i wasn't home-and it was ridiculous how many commercials are shown-it's alomst like halftime of a football game

Default Lane is...

Solomon,

Lane turned out to be this very flamboyant middle aged man who sold Jack his mustache. but it wasn't only Jack's experience in buying it from Lane, but the many versions of mustaches Jack went through and the comedy that went along with it - A VERY hilarious little scene which any channel should be ashamed for cutting.

I had originally taped the episodes from channel 11 in the late 80's, early 90's - and even those had the epilogues usually cut...but Nick At Night really disappoints with their editing hacks. By the time they're done with an episode, I might as well be watching a trailer for Three's Company.
