Default Make the Connection

There's an old game show called "Make the Connection ". It had me thinking that TV shows often have connections with each other.

I'm going to list a few combinations and want to see if you can figure them out. I'm sure they might be obvious to some but maybe not to all. I'll reply when they are answered correctly based on what I was thinking about. Yet there may be multiple answers some of which I may not have known.

Feel free to answer them and list your own for others to answer. Just list 2 TV shows that you know that have a connection.

So here's a few to start.

"That Girl" and "Buffalo Bill"
"The Addams Family " and "Mister Ed"
"My Favorite Martian " and "The Courtship of Eddie's Father " ( no not Bill Bixby)
"The Patty Duke Show " and "My Favorite Martian "
"The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" and "The Patty Duke Show "

As I come up with others, I'll post them.

William Schallert and Jean Byron were recurring teachers on Dobie Gillis, and the parents on Patty Duke.

Dabney Coleman played (I think) a doctor friend of Ann's (or her friend Judy's husband) in the first season of TG, probably named Leon, and of course Buffalo Bill.

Correct. It's amazing seeing the difference in the characters that Coleman played. I didn't realize he was on That Girl at first.

I see that Roger C. Carmel was in an episode in both. But that's probably not the connection you're looking for.

If it was Facts of Life and Car 54 I'd have it but this one is difficult.

James Komack was a director for both, and also wrote for both series.

Who I was looking for here was Mel Stewart, who was Henry Jefferson on All in the Family and an ensemble cop (Garfield, Julie) on Car 54.

So you guys got 3 of these correct.

That Girl" and "Buffalo Bill" - CORRECT
"The Addams Family " and "Mister Ed"
"My Favorite Martian " and "The Courtship of Eddie's Father " ( no not Bill Bixby) - CORRECT
"The Patty Duke Show " and "My Favorite Martian "
"The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" and "The Patty Duke Show " - CORRECT

Now both "The Addams Family "/"Mister Ed " and "The Patty Duke Show "/"My Favorite Martian " connection aren't about actors or writers. They have different connections.
I'll clue you in tomorrow if you haven't figured them out.

I got two more for you,
"Mister Roger's Neighborhood " and " The Smothers Brothers Show" (1975 edition)
"Pat Paulsen's Half Hour Comedy Hour " and " The Patty Duke Show "

He was a pretty creative/talented guy. He also starred in "The Courtship of Eddie's Father "
He acted of the show "Hennessy" as well.
