Season 2. Beaver wants to know if Wally could beat up Lumpy. Wally says that Lumpy is a junior in high school. Just how many grades does Lumpy get held back if he graduates with Eddie and Wally?

That appears to be another series inconsistency. In the season three episode where Eddie and Lumpy plot a way to cheat on a history test, they are all in a sophomore history class.

Unless for some reason Lumpy is again a junior and for some reason is again taking the history class.

But if he's a junior in season 2 he's more like a permanent high school student.

Also Wally's grade in school (just like Beaver's) is screwed up in the whole series.

In the show, Wally's school grade: S1 - 8, S2 - 9, S3 - 10, S4 - 11, S5 - 12, S6 - 12 (S5 has virtually no reference to his grade); it should have been S1 - 7, S2 - 8, S3 -9, S4 - 10, S5 - 11, S6 - 12.
