In the 1990's The Home Depot came up with an interesting way to promote their stores. The answer? A home improvement loving fellow by the name of Homer "and no he is not named after Homer Simpson" but a guy who became the mascot for The Home Depot and began making his debut in a series of The Home Depot commercials in 1990 promoting sales. Homer when you first see him looks sort of like Wilden Lightfoot from Disney's Onward and wears his signature Home Depot uniform like the employees at The Home Depot wear and is one cool mascot. Homer was used in the commercials and made appearances at grand openings of new The Home Depot stores until 2002 but was a clever way to make a home improvement store huge
