What movies should have never, ever made a sequel and why? Whether it was because it killed the credibility of the first film or because it just didn't need a sequel...
My vote is Weekend at Bernie's 2- The first movie was pretty funny and could've been a dark classic. The sequel was plain horrible, I mean how many adventures could a dead guy have? |

Good topic...
Off the top of my head... - The "Major League" series. The first one was the best. It was a funny flick that wasn't expected to be a big hit but it hit big when it was shown on HBO, so they rushed out and did a sequel that stunk - The "Mighty Ducks" series. Any movie about a team coming from behind to win in the end should not get a sequel. Why? Because the next movie is about the team coming from behind to win again! We got the point the first time! That was also the plot of the Major League series, why keep repeating the same plot? Others to consider... - Robocop - Beverly Hills Cop (2 was over the top) - Romancing The Stone (wasn't too crazy about the first one) - Arthur (once is funny, twice isn't) - The Fugitive (if you're not chasing Harrison Ford again, who cares?) |

Speaking of movies like Major League and The Mighty Ducks, that reminds me of the movie The Bad News Bears. After that movie, came at least two other 'Bad News' flicks.

The Police Academy sequels were horrible. The Rocky movies should have ended after the second one. The Deathwish movies and the Deathstalker sequels also should never have taken place.

I would say Jaws, Psycho, Terms of Endearment, Look Who's Talking, Saturday Night Fever (remember the sequal directed by Sly Stallone?), and those Chuckie movies

Silence of the Lambs was real good...Hannibal, not so good.
Godfather 1 & 2 were masterpieces. Godfather 3 was a disgrace. Jaws should have stopped at one. I loved Nightmare on Elm Street. Lost interest in the sequel (s). Terminator 2 was good, but I liked the original better, same for Jurassic Park. The Rocky movies wore out their welcome after 3 rounds. Enough already with the Lethal Weapon and Die Hard series. |
