I'm most if not all of us on this board have read Maria's book one or more times.
In her book she says that the part for Chico was between Isaac and Freddie let's say for the heck of it that Isaac got the part of Chico and freddie got the part of Mando. How do you think the show would be different? Do you think it would have still been a hit or as was the case in family matters would a second fiddle have eventually outshined the star? |

Hey great topic!
That is tough question to answer. I have heard Isaac on occasion after he had read my story. He had given me some clever Ideas for a sequel. He was acting out the characters of Louie and Ed to a tee! OMG I laughed so hard. Although Freddie still would of been another great choice I would personally find it hard to choose |

I think if Isaac had been picked to play Chico, the show still would've done well but it wouldn't have been the same as Freddie playing him. Freddie & Jack had such great chemistry. Freddie was great at playing Chico & Isaac was great at playing Mando...

I do too Anna I just thought this was a cool question and wanted to see what others thought. but I agree with you 100% it would have been like Steve Urkel on family matters he was supposed to be a small segment in an occasional show and he became the show.

I guess I have to put in my two cents worth here. I think that
Freddie Prinze and Jack's chemistrywas what made the show. Freddie was so multi-talented and charming that he could not have been replaced. He might have been able to play both Chico and Mando...but no one else could have played Chico the way that Freddie did. If you think I'm way off base...then why did the show collapse after Freddie died????...I rest my case. |
