What happened to Frank Gorshin during the 3rd season? They showed episode 2 from the 3rd season and it was his last appearance. Was he still upset about John Astin taking the Riddler role when he wasn't available, or was he just tired of doing the Riddler role?
Just wondering |

It wasn't because he was upset about John Astin taking the Riddler role, when he wasn't available, and he wasn't tired of doing the role of "The Riddler". It's mainly because of the major impact of his acting career as "The Riddler" on Batman. He was offered many advatages to play in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand, The Sahara, The International and the Aladdin. So Gorshin decided to become an impressionist. So I guess he quit his job as "The Riddler" to get a bigger spotlight, and to gain more stardom.
I hope thise helps

Truth is that Gorshin was indeed tired of the role and wanted to move onto other stuff. He didn't leave in order to become an impressionist, he already was one long before Batman. |
