TV GUIDE Online Issues 1965-70 + Bonus TV Book - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Yesterday, while going through the Internet Archive, I found a large collection of TV Guides covering one of the greatest periods in TV history, from January 16, 1965 to February 21, 1970. The entire collection can be found here:

For those of us who loved to read TV Guide, the best issues were the Fall Preview issues. Looking back now, it's interesting to read some of the reviews that each new series received from the magazine's group of critics and see how wrong they were about a few of them (like "Gilligan's Island" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" for example.) The issues got bigger and more in-depth with each season. This is what they looked like in this collection:

Sept. 11, 1965

All of the TV Guides are from The Bay Area region in Northern California (Oakland/San Francisco/San Jose).

Another great find I saw in the past week is a book that has been much discussed in these forums and not always in polite terms. It's "The Great TV Sitcom Book" by Rick Mitz which has finally found its way to the Archive. It's a detailed look at the biggest hits - and a few flops - from TV's first 30 years. This is the original first edition from 1980.
