Blair was originally going to get a new series as being a law clerk?

According to this article published shortly before the final episodes were going to be taped had Blair as having her own show as being a law clerk of the firm she worked for.

I've been streaming the last season eps from Pluto as I don't recall watching them during the original series run. With that said the final season was all over the place esp with the characters of Blair and Natalie.

They had Natalie go back to college, lose her virginity to Snake and then decide she didn't want to get married to him. Then she decides to move to NYC into an apartment with 4 other young people including a character portrayed by David Spade. I'm assuming that was a spin off that never took off.

With Blair they sent her to law school. A few episodes later she was buying the center where Jo worked and dated a social worker. FWIW I thought she and Casey were a cute couple but he only wanted to live together and not get married. Then she gets a job as a law clerk working for her teacher who left teaching after being accused of having an affair with Blair (that didn't happen). In between all that she got into a bad car accident leaving a nasty gash on her face that disappeared by the next episode. Finally she decides to buy Eastland when it fell into financial distress. A young Seth Green and Mayim Bialik were a few of the new Eastland students. I'm assuming the law clerk episode and the final Eastland episodes were potential spin offs that never took off.

They changed the premise of Blair working as a law clerk to taking over Eastland. A role she was way too young for.

I think it was the original idea, a spin-off show revolving around Blair and her new life but they probably opted for what we saw in the last episode: buying Eastland and becoming the school's new headmistress
