I have always loved the green-stained front doors. I do not think I have ever seen any other home or set using this idea. Have you?

That was a popular door color in the early 70s. I have seen it on interior doors in the early 70s but cant recall if I've seen it on an exterior door.

When new neighbors moved in next-door to my family's house in 1971, they changed the house's exterior color from grey to green. Also in those years, avocado green was a popular color for kitchen appliances. We had a green fridge for years & years. I've not seen very many green residential exterior doors though.

Yes that avocado green was popular for appliances, shag rugs, etc.

Avocado green was one of the three standard telephone colors, along with black and beige.

We had a black wall-mounted rotary phone in the kitchen. I think I've seen some yellow ones like that as well.

In her last house my grandmother had a yellow rotary dial phone on the kitchen wall.
You couldn't miss it--my aunt had painted the kitchen an aqua color--even the cabinets. |
