Post If there was a New Bewitched Show, who would play who?

Thought this was a good idea. You decide. If there was a new Bewitched show, who would play who?
My Picks would be:

Samantha: Jenna Elfman
Darren: George Clooney
Andora: Bette Midler
Larry: Steve Martin
Uncle Arthur: Jim Carey
Dr. Bombay: Kelsey Grammer

I've been brainstorming this one for a very long time, ever since I heard the rumor that Bewitched was going to be a major motion picture ( still in production hell of course)...
Jim Carrey was my first choice for Darrin.. Come on! He has all the facial expressions, build, voice capabilities of Dick York! His impression would be as uncanny as his impression of Andy Kaufman in "Man In The Moon"...
Recently I read that they are toying with the idea of chucking most of the original Bewitched concept with the acception of a few of the major characters and making it a romantic comedy..
At first I was outraged, but after I thought it over I agree!! And Jim Carrey would share billing with.... ???
I had my own cast all laid on in my mind, with the exception of SAMANTHA... Liz was just so beautiful, and it's gonna be hard to fill those shoes. Closest idea I could picture (being opposite Jim Carrey) would be Meg Ryan.. Blonde hair, and check out that nose!!!!!!!

I think Michelle Pfieffer (how ever you spell that) would be a great Samantha.

Jim Carrey as Darren would be hysterical. I agree that the actress who plays Samantha has to be a real beauty inside and out. Who should play the part? The closest is Michelle Pheiffer but, Is there another actress that could give her a run? Larry Tate should be played by (?).

Who would play Alice Kravitz? I say Roseanne! Her hubby could be Tom Arnold!

Hi..... i think Michelle Pfeiffer would be the one & only perfect choice for the role of SamanthA Stevens too....She's so Magical, & remember, She was CATWOMEN!...i think Jim Carey would be an Amazing Uncle Aurthor....Definitly Steve Martin for the role of Larry Tate...I think we should squeeze Courtney Love iN there somewhere, After All, this is the 60's, & nothing's better than a comical, animated, & cosmic facial expression be ZOOMED up so close in a "SUPRiSE SHOCK" shot...plus Courtney Love would LQQk far out in a tie-die mini skirt!.....Kathy Griffin ( w/ her red hair all POOFED up) would be an excelent Gladys Cravits, 'cause she's down with being the annoying neighbor...plus, she'd be histarical running away & screaming.....Bjork would be a perfect cousin/aunt witch that's obsessed with HummingBirds....& i think Ellen DeGeneres would be a perfect fit for the role of Esmerelda...kinda clumsy, yet Grand. & i think i'd be the BEST Darrin Stephans....

Shirley MacLaine as Endora! She's be great.

I've always thought Edie McClurg would make a good Mrs. Kravitz, as another poster mentioned, especially if you're looking for a Sandra Gould-type. Now, if you wanted to cast someone closer to Alice Pearce, the original Mrs. Kravitz, then I'd vote for Beverly Archer, who was Iola on "Mama's Family".

Tracey Gold would make the best Samantha. She looks so much like Elizabeth Montgomery. And yes, Jim Carrey is the obvious choice for Darren.

Jim Carrey as Darrin?????? Are you crazy?????? Not even Dick Sergant could properly fill Dick York's shoes. He WAS Darrin. If and when they do make a Bewitched movie, I hope they try to cast it loyal to the actors and characters, than to trying to fit in as many Hollywood names as they can. That's been the fate of too many TV shows turned movies. Someone suggested casting Sandra Bullock as Mary Ann on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND. Same problem. Go with the characters, not with your favorite actors.

The trouble is, Liza, both York and Sergeant are dead. I agree with the idea of not trying to fit in as many Hollywood names as they can, but for the modern era, Jim Carrey is still the better choice. Do you have any other suggestions?

Edie McClurg would be good for Mrs. Kravitz, TV Guy. She'd also make a great Alberta Kagan, if they ever tried to do a remake of the 1967 Sandy Dennis movie "Up the Down Staircase." Oh wait! They already did a remake of that in 1995. It was called "Dangerous Minds."
