The show premiered on Wednesday, Sept 26, 1973 and featured a young Jodie Foster.

The show competed with Adam-12 on NBC and Sonny and Cher on CBS in the 8pm slot

The show didnt reach the top 30 after the first episode and fell to #62 after the airing of the 3rd show.

The show was the lowest rated show in its timeslot

It was the first cancellation of the 1973-74 season and last airing was Nov 7, 1973.

The show would be replaced by ABC wednesday Night Movies

Gordon Jump from WKRP in Cincinnati appeared in episode 12

That does make more sense. I’ve never seen the movie or show, but I can’t picture a sitcom on network TV in 1973 dealing with wife swapping on a regular basis. I wonder how they changed it from movie to show.

All In The Family did have an episode about the subject.

I was already aware of the premise of the movie before I ever saw the series, but I knew not to expect the same thing from the series because like you said that sort of thing would never be allowed on TV in 1973. Maybe for one episode involving guest characters like on All in the Family, but that's it.

The two couples in the series were just friends with each other, that was it.
