I got a response from Columbia House Canada today via email. Here is what they said:

We appreciate your suggestion. It has been forwarded to the appropriate department for consideration. Thank you!
A contract must be negotiated with a distribution company before we can offer videos/dvds from them. Sometimes, we are unable to negotiate these contracts, therefore, we are unable to offer all movies currently on video/dvd.

I don't check this message board like I should, but on the HD message board, I have an on-going message posting as
"DVDs I shouted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
In that posting, I too wrote Columbia House and got the same type of response.
I've also written Paramont Studios and am waiting a response.
