My friend a huge Bewitched & I Dream of Jeanie fan said there is a episode where there is a cross-over between the 2 shows. Does anyone know if this is true? & If so where I can get a tape? reply to slg857030@hotmail.com

I don't think this is correct. If I'm not mistaken they ran on rival networks. I know Bewitched ran on ABC. Wasn't to big a Jeannie fan though.

William Asher connection
No, but William Asher produced the two J movies --with really stupid dialogue such as "People Magic is more powerful than genie magic"

Both series were filmed on the same lot tho. IIRC, in several episodes they used Sam's livingroom, with a few changes, as Dr. Bellows'. And they used Major Nelson's kitchen as the Tates' at least once IIRC.

I remember hearing that Elizabeth and Barbara were in the same make-up room and Liz sort of snubbed Barbara.

I highly doubt it. The shows may have been produced by the same company (Screen Gems) and taped on the same lot, but they aired on different networks. Also I've heard it reported that EM was not thrilled with IDOJ, I guess maybe she felt it was stealing her thunder.
Of course there is no competition in my book: Bewitched to me is far and away the better show of the two. Still, IDOJ had one of the funniest, most underrated supporting actors of all sitcomdom: Bill Daily (Roger). He was the first IDOJ actor to have a second successful series when he was cast as Howard Borden on the Bob Newhart Show. Then of course Larry Hagman skyrocketed to fame as JR Ewing in Dallas. |

It would have been pretty cool if there had been a cross-over, don't you think?

Maybe on Saturday Night Live, that's about it (if even that!)
