I may be on skid row!
On Monday of this week, I was about to get a lead detection at my rental house. The cleaning guy told me that there may already be lead in the house because of the moldings in the house.
He calls my landlord and she says my house STILL isn't clean despite cleaning the house almost all day Sunday! My best is NEVER good enough and now I have 30 days to clean up more...or face eviction! I have no one to take me in...except my brother who's house STILL has no plumbing or heat! I'll have to do the lead testing myself and...if it's positive...I better leave anyhow! So...no matter...I'm forced to move-back to the house I grew-up in! And I believe I angered God so God is not only angry at me and hates me...but He's ignoring me completely! I even feel that my old man has won...his prayer was answered...he kept insisting that I move-back home and guess what...it's going to happen! I give up...Rick Warren is full of ****! I have NO purpose in life! I can't even pray or go to church because I tried to call people...but no help! I'm the loneliest person in the world! I'll see if I can lock this post because some people are tired of my bitching...**** my life...I'm seeing a fortune-teller and ask why this **** is happening! |

Where did it all go wrong in your Life, Cleveland. I don't hear much common sense.
What would you do with say $500K if it came into your life? I hope make some plans and get yourself a safe small apt. And not blow the money. I would hope with some of the money you would get some "real" therapy...trying to put myself in your position, t his is what I would do, I believe. So many could get help with their lives from a degreed licensed therapist. There is certainly no shame in admitting this and seeing one, but that takes money. I broke down many yrs ago after my divorce and went to a therapist and that visit got me on my way to my new life. And to blame Rick Warren and a god, good grief. Giving money to these 2!!!! |

Please don't waste your money on a fortune teller. They are all con artists who are out to swindle money from people.

Sorry things are going badly for you Mr. Cleveland !
My prayers are with you ! Agreed with Wawwie about the fortune teller! And also with Caroline about therapy. Even with no money you can get some counseling from the state or county for free and they can also help you find proper low income housing for you! ![]() Please do not give up ! |

There is help "out there", for anyone seeking it. Wondering is there more to the story than you are telling us, that might explain why getting help through the traditional channels is unacceptable to you? Disabiity income? emergency shelters, outreach groups, section 8 housing, etc? SALVATION Army has adult rehabilitation centers all across the country, easy 6 months room and board, just go tell them you are an alcoholic seeking sobriety, and you pass their only entrance requirement...slam dunk. Of course, you can't drink while living there. |

I have until March 31st to leave!
Even if I get my premise cleaned 100%...I must leave or face eviction!
My bitch of a landlord basically pulled the rug from off my feet! I do have another place to go...my job that's from 9 to 11 at night. I can get gussied-up there and NOT let anyone know I sleep there! |

Once I finished college, my dad made it clear that he wanted me out of the house. The problem was I was working at a very low-paying factory job making wire harnesses while looking for an engineering job. I just didn't have the income or savings to be on my own.
At one point things got heated and he threatened to change the door locks on me. My reply in anger was "I'll break that #%$#% door down!" Things are always very difficult when you don't have the money to be living in a place of your own or with a roommate. I used to spend endless hours inside the library at Notre Dame, avoiding being at home. That worked especially well for me when I was working 3rd shift jobs -- overnight at work, much of the daytime spent at "The 'Brar" and hitting the mall. I feel very badly for you as the cold weather continues, as it won't be until late April or May or so when you might want to consider moving in with your brother despite not having heat in his house. |

Oh Hail, back in my growing up days, jobs were a dime a dozen and I even paid "rent" to my folks as I lived with them until marriage....life has changed so so much with MOST major businesses being shipped off to china, korea, mexico you name it. Yes. I miss that life, they were the good ole days.
Shoes made in china for maybe $5 child labor and sold in U.S. for $70 and up....plenty of U.S greed.... |

Oh yes Caroline. I grew up near Flint, MI. Back in it's glory days when GM was king they were literally pulling people off the streets to good paying jobs. In fact my brother, a high school dropout, was hired on the spot at 17 years old and worked for 30 years with a great pension and full medical benefits. The same with my husband who got hired immediately after serving in the military. Since my husband's death last June I receive a good amount of his pension and all medical benefits. What I am saying is that yes, times have certainly changed not only for Flint but everywhere where major corporations have deserted them for foreign countries. It's a crying shame. We had it so good and I'm thankful for what GM and the unions had provided my family and most of my neighbors . We need to get our country back on track. Here is a photo of the large Buick City factory complex taken in 2000. And what is not left of it after being demolished in 2011. Many other GM factories have moved out leaving Flint in a terrible condition. I am sure that Mr Cleveland has seen the same things in his area. So sad and so dispicable! |

Thanks for the photos Penny....yep, they call it Progress. The small town I grew up in outside Pittsburgh was a thriving little Westinghouse town and the sweet dear town is dead. Peopple still call it home but businesses are all gone.
Now the big push is for EV's and starting costs are $50K and up with each extra battery with more charge to it... I hear plenty of those coming forward with info on those exploding EV's....and then of course the need for more and more charging stations and the continuing drain on the power grids.... Hearing just now about another boondoggle to be, a bullet train being constructed to go from San Bernandino and Las Vegas..... We have a boondoggle bullet train in Central CA and nothing is being completed, it just sits there and I believe $6Billion or so has gone into the train to no where..... |

But you haven't told us how your brother is getting by despite not having running water. A toilet's flushing is a simple thing, I suspect he's getting 5-gallon buckets of water from somewhere (maybe from a neighbor). An older toilet tank can hold 3.5 gallons, poured in the top; it's then usable for 2 or more flushes despite having no pressurized water intake. It's what people do if their service is interrupted. People are just trying to be helpful here. To this day, there are days when I don't spend much time at home -- I enjoy other places more -- but it's still where I call home. |

FWIW, a plastic grocery store shopping bag will stretch over the opening of a 5 gallon bucket, and provide all the comforts of a portable camping toilet.
Once the deed is done, pull off the bag, squeeze out excess air, tie a knot in the neck of the bag, and dispose of responsibly. You can go a step further and cut the top 3" off a 2 liter pop bottle, stuff your bag from above into the now neckless bottle, and then force fit the portion you cut off back into the open end, to seal in the smell. One problem solved, but why don;t you want to do anything constructive about the bigger problem? (getting qualified help) |
