I have about a half-dozen Hägar books in my collection. The strip never ran in my local paper, so I haven't collected it comprehensively. It's part of the same family of comic strips as Beetle Bailey, Hi and Lois, Boner's Ark, and Sam's Strip -- some of which are largely forgotten now.

The only Hagar The Horrible Comic I remember is Hagar telling his Subjects,"Bad news. Social Security has ended. Good news. You all can work until you're 90."

My entire high school class and the Teacher all agreed this joke wasn't funny, and it's sadly becoming true currently, with elderly people who already retired having to come back to work because they HAVE to work, and not because they WANT to.
