There is a Chinese Spy Balloon Flying around the US why have I not Heard The Military Shot It Down?

I believe that recovering the balloon's payload is more important than shooting it down.

Didn't one of the early James Bond movies feature an airplane with a "wire catcher" on the front that snagged a cable hanging from a balloon?

Why dont they force it down somehow?? (W/o breaking the coating)

I'll have to try that place (CD) sometime?

Maybe they are waiting to get it out over the ocean before bringing it down?

My bet is that it has a self destruct mechanism? (the balloon, not C-D)
