Default Create Your Own New Cable Channels!

With the increased channel capacity brought on by digital cable, satalight, and fiber optic technology, what cable channels do you think would be cool? (I'm not speaking about channels out there that your system doesn't have, I mean ideas for new channels for services that aren't out yet.) Here is my list:

THE MYSTERY CHANNEL: A channel devoted to classic mystery sitcoms, dramas, movies, and series. A feature could include profiles of famous mystery writers or mystery film stars.

THE FIGHT CHANNEL: Featuring the best out of market boxing matches, martial arts, karate etc.

THE MEDITATION CHANNEL: Relaxing and uplifting entertainment focussing on ways to unwind the tentions of the day. One of my favorite shows was "The Joy of Painting, with Bob Ross (i.e the happy painter man) with a voice that could bring peace to Middle-East conflict, he was THAT RELAXING. They could show snow scenes, waterfalls, birds singing. Some cable systems have a channel that shows a live fish tank cam at certain times of the day! The channel could have counsoling shows to talk about ways to relax, ways to manage stress (ect)

The UFO channel. Non-stop programs about flying saucers and extra terrestrial life. I know they have some programs on SPACE and TLC about stuff like that, but there's not a channel that is completely just UFOs. Oh, and also an 80s Network, where all that ever airs are 80s sitcoms.

Great question.

Although I do not know how to specifically create a channel, I do think there needs to be more channels that offer TV's finest shows from the 50's to the 70's. Obviously, TV Land can't air them all and neither can Hallmark. So what other channels are left? Certainly not TBS or Nick at Nite. Case piont, there needs to be at least one more channel devoted to the classics.

That reminds me of a kids in the hall skit called Painting With The Inner Child with Daryl. Of course the paintings were ludicrous! The Mystery channel sounds like it would be cool. I would definetely watch a channel like that.

I'd do a 70's channel. Anything and Everything that was on TV back then, It would be like going back in time. I'd do the same with the 80's

Another GSN: With all the game shows out there, we need another one. But mine would be strictly classic.

A classic dramas channel: Any and all classic dramas from the 50s-70s.

I'd do something like Soap Central... a channel that showed all soap operas 24/7!

A sitcoms Channel JUST SITCOMS!! It would be cool! TVland has a lot of sitcoms but not all of thir shows are sitcoms. Most of them would be from 50s-80s.

It would be cool if TV Land expanded into by-decade channels . . . ie like TV Land '50s, TV Land '60s, TV Land '70s, and after awhile TV Land '80s (since their gradually starting to show programs from that decade). And they could still keep TV Land for those who's cable companies would be too stingy (like mine) lol.

There is one. SoapNet.

I would like a TVLand 2. Cause it's like they have a good 30 years of TV on one channel. That's clearly not much.

Yeah. It's called Encore Mystery Channel. They used to show "Hart to Hart" which is now on Hallmark, but they still air the "Hart to Hart" reunion movies from time to time.

Kitsch Channel
A Variety of Retro and Rare Programming from the 70's, and cult-classics that reflect the 70's perspective. It will showcase many vintage classics from the early and late 70's.

New Wave Network
A Network that Dedicates themself and takes you back to campy and Technology age. That celebtrates the best of the 80s and sitcoms all through the early and late 80's.

I think it would be cool if a network just did decades and their sitcoms.
