Default 200th special questions...

isnt this the only ep in syndication that airs w/ the regular length theme(as the actual theme. i know they air a long one near the end w/ clips). do u think N@N will air the regular theme?

and was this ep. 'unremastered' too originally? do u think IT was remastered?

Yes, as far as i know, the episode that was on WB11 in syndication wasn't remastered and had the long theme, so im guessing yes, nick at nite spliced the hell out of it

It's very interesting that you ask this question. UPN 12 (KPTV; Portland, OR) just aired this episode last Thursday and Friday.

Only "Part I" of this episode had the full theme song. "Part II" of this episode had the short theme song.

Strangely enough, the Cheers sign, the opening credits, the clips themselves, the sound (I think), and the closing credits for Part I were remastered. But the whole John McLaughlin talking with the cast part of the episode looked non-remastered. I could tell, because the Cooper Black font looked different than normal.

Am I confusing anybody?

P.S. Is it me, or does the remastered short theme on the syndication episodes sound different than N@N's short theme? The syndication theme sounds a lot more "stereo-y" and has the double vocal track

i know the remastered syndication eps. are just remastered versions of the original syndication cuts(N@N got the full original NBC-remastered versions), so im guessin the remastered syndicated theme(which i havent seen personally) are remastered versions of the unremastered versions.

that confusing enough? lol

i doubt its the same as N@N's short theme cuz the N@N short theme is a remastered version of NBC's short theme (neither are the same as syndication, BTW).

so i can almost positively tell u they are not the same. as for the 'stereo-y' sound, it could cuz b ur station (i know my unremastered synd. channel has a much crisper sound quality than N@N, but that could just b remastering)

and the 200th special airs 2night, so well see what its like

im guessin nick DID edit a whole bunch of clips or interviews out, just cuz thats how it seemed lol(like Roger never talked, neither did Bebe, etc), but i still liked it.

N@N's version IS remastered, but like Casey Buck said, most of the actual on-stage stuff looked unremastered("most", because a few shots DID look remastered compared to the other ones). maybe its just cuz it was different cameras than the show

im guessin the entire 2 episode(s) was just remastered, instead of getting clips from remastered eps, just because there was a clip from "One Happy Chappy in a Snappy Serape" and it was remastered (while the ep. isnt, on N@N). some clips did have a lesser-quality tho. the "real" teaser of pt. 1 was remastered too

for both eps, the Cheers signs were remastered. in pt. 1, right after the theme, the 'also starring' ppl were NOT remastered. the credits at the end (b4 the ending theme) were remastered tho. the ending theme was also remastered, including the different ending theme music
for pt. 2, the 'also starring' ppl WERE remastered! but, the credits at the end, b4 the ending theme, and the ending theme itself, were NOT remastered. all of the transition titles (Norm!, "Back home in Indiana...", Mayday, etc.) which were yellow on black, were remastered.

now for my fav. part (haha), the opening theme. they were BOTH the short themes! but unlike most of the other N@N eps, they were in the regular key of the song (not the lower key most N@N short themes are). all of the pics, and the theme song were remastered. i liked at the end of pt.1's theme, instead of just ending it, it changed to the music played at the actual celebration, and fading to the theme on a big screen above the stage. if anyone noticed tho, the pic. on the big screen (the "Created By..." pic), it was from season 4 on NBC(or season 4 on N@N unremastered). anyway, it was cool

i liked the clip show at the end(maybe just cuz it was the theme too? lol). alot of the lyrics matched the clips.
"wouldnt u like to get away?" - frasier and a girl(name?) riding down the steps on her bike(motorcycle)
"all those nights when u got no lights" - Sam and rebecca dancing in her apartment, as he manipulates her to turn her lights off
"the check is in the mail" - a monkey wearing Cliff's uniform gives Woody an envelope
"...hung the cat up by its tail" - Norm covered in little kittens
"and your 3rd finace didnt show" - sam in bed w/ a LOT of women
"where everybody knows your name(first time)" - sam, norm, woody and cliff bending over to show their shaved heads (from a gary prank), now spelling Gary (maybe cuz GARY Portnoy wrote the theme song?...)
"you wanna be where u can see" - Diane stuck in the vent in the ground, looking out
"our troubles are all the same" - Al leaning in for a kiss w/ diane in the vent
"roll out of bed..." rebecca rolling out of sams lap, on the office couch
"the mornings looking bright" - when Sam and Rebecca are trapped in Robin's apartment until morning cuz of the electric grid security system
"and your shrink ran off to europe..." frasier, the shrink, trying to "help" diane at the funny farm(name?) where they met, and they later would run off to europe together
"and your husband wants to b a girl" - norm and cliff kissing each other (lol!)
"people are all the same" - 2 guys kissing norm after he made a whole bunch of jokes about them their sexualality(needed a way 2 say that lol)
other times, usually when Where Everybody knows your name was being sung, there were clips of Norm

other parts i liked were the close up of Coach's pic, how Kirstie talked about "replacing" shelley, and shelley getting embarrassed, the noise kirstie made when John mentioned Cheers 400th anniversary, woody hair and outfit overall, shelleys 90's hair (lol), the extra footage during pt.2's ending theme(like when they showed Ted and Shelley talking and getting along by themselves), all the Normisms

has anyone seen this in its entire-unremastered form (either in syndication or the original on NBC?) if u say N@N's, how did it compare(like more clips? and was pt.1's full theme a regular theme, or was mix of a whole bunch of them?)

ok...thats enough from me now haha

*hack* It's "And your shrink ran off to Europe and didn't even write". And during the "And didn't even write" it shows Lilith doing this sexy dance for Sam.

Lol, I saw the 200th ep anniversary special, and I was wondering what episode that Lilith clip was from. Does anyone know? Lol, it looked so funny.

It's from the episode, "Bidding on the Boys." She's angry at Frasier and ends up bidding $2,000 on Sam. Makes him go to the cabin, and pretends to seduce him all for Frasier's sake. She's a brilliant woman, LOL. Brilliant, I tell you... I admire her usage of manipulation. It's something I aspire to conquer as well as she.

Lilith: I mapped out our dominant and recessive traits on a genome square, applied Mendel's laws, allowed for anomolies, and concluded that you are the best biological choice.
Frasier: I see. Well, enticed as I am by your honeyed words, I'm gonna need some kissin'.
Lilith: Frasier, don't misunderstand. I'm not proposing any change in our relationship.
Frasier: Would we sleep together?
Lilith: I thought we'd freeze your sperm.
Frasier: Is that a yes or a no?
Lilith: Natural fertilization isn't practical. I'd have to fly to Seattle every time I ovulate.
Frasier: Right, okay. So then, your plan is for me to visit some local doctor, freeze my essence, and then bring it home with you.
Lilith: Correct. I'll take mine to go!

Thumbs up

I enjoyed the 200th Special. I love retrospective shows. Shelley looked so different with the reddish hair--nice, but I love her as a blonde. I know she was off the show, but I think it would have been nice if she sat next to Ted Danson, with Kirstie on the other side.
Diane was such an integral part of the show and Sam, that it appeared strange for her not to be seated with him.
I was waiting to hear from Bebe, but as someone stated, maybe it was edited. She deserved a segment devoted to her like the other cast members.
I enjoyed it, and I realized just how many episodes I've seen. One that I didn't see was Rebecca going into the sheep filled office. What was up with that? lol
The lookback on Coach was wonderful and sad. He was good.
It was great hearing the commentary from the actors about their characters and the show.

Rebecca going into the office with the sheep was from the Episode 144 "Bar Wars". The first Bar Wars of 7, in which Rebecca tries to call a truce with Gary, and thinks she does, but then walks into her office to see it filled with sheep, and then she joins the guys in getting Gary back.

Default Just for the record.....

I'm not sure what exactly was edited out in syndication, but I taped this episode when it originally aired on NBC and neither Roger nor Bebe were interviewed. I'm sure they were for the actual event, but those parts never made it to the final cut. It's a shame too because I'm a Lilith fan as well and I'd have liked to hear what Roger Rees had to say about his character, Robin.
