What is the worst blown call in the history of sports and why? If it's not on the poll, let us know. A lot of them seem to happen in baseball.

There are so many of them that it is hard to choose just one. I think the 1972 Summer Olympic Championship Basketball game is the worst.

The 1996 homerun catch is the worst of the ones you mentioned. But one that really,REALLY, bothered me was in the 1991 World Series between the Twins and the Braves. The Twins first baseman, Kent Herbeck, obviously pulled the braves base runner's leg off of the bag and then taged him and the umpire fell for it, he called him out. Each game in that series was decided by one run, or nearly so, snd that call was the turning point in who won or lost the series, the same as the 96 homerun catch was.

Midway through the 2001-2002 NBA season, the Bucks played the Heat in Milwaukee. With only seconds left, Eddie Jones of the Heat made an obvious double-dribble, which should have resulted in a turnover. The Bucks were ahead by a couple points, the officials completely missed the double-dribble, Eddie Jones threw up and hit a three-pointer, and the Heat won the game. ALL THREE OFFICIALS MISSED THE CALL...

Everyone knew that the Bucks should have won that game. Sure, it doesn't sound like that big of a deal.......

...but the Bucks ended up only ONE game out of the playoffs. Had the right call been made, the Bucks would have been playing with the final seed in the playoffs.

Ya I remember that game......I was watching it with my Grandpa..... One thing I hate is how people sit there and yell at the TV when a player mi$$es the shot!!
