In season 2 episode 10, A Man for Marilyn, Herman and Grandpa think the latter successfully turned a frog into a suitor for Marilyn. They hold the guy captive in the dungeon, but Eddie frees him before the nuptials can take place. He then reports the incident to the police, who go to investigate.
At 22:45 (on the uncut DVD version) Herman’s reply to Lily’s complaint about the cop being fresh towards her (by pinching her cheek) was: “I don't blame him. Who can resist you?!” Lily was in front of Herman at that point, starting to walk upstairs. She then turned around to see his eyes looking in the general direction of her derriere and said coyly,” Herman!” They then proceed to walk upstairs, but Lily more or less gestures for Herman to go first. The camera lingers on them as they ascend the staircase, a bit of dramatic music in the background. They come back downstairs at 24:15, holding hands and beatifically smiling from ear to ear. All in all, it was very tastefully done, using gestures and innuendo instead of the luridness you see in shows today! Something else of note in this episode is that Jackie Coogan Jr. has a very small part, as the friend of the frog/prince. Funny that the real-life son of the Addams Family’s Uncle Fester would have a bit part in the show that will forever be compared to his father’s… |
