Arrow "Gilligan's Island" Airings For The Week Of August 18th

"GILLIGAN'S ISLAND" AIRINGS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 18TH:
Aug 18 2002 11:30PM 065 - The Friendly Physician
A small boat with one man aboard lands on Gilligan's Island to rescue the castaways. The boatman, Dr. Balinkoff ( VITO SCOTTI -"The Godfather"), lives in a castle on a nearby island and saw the castaways' signal fire. He takes Gilligan and the Skipper to his island so they can pick up a larger boat to rescue the remaining castaways. At the doctor's castle, Gilligan and the Skipper start feeling as though they're in a haunted house. Just before the other castaways arrive at the doctor's island, Gilligan and the Skipper discover that their suspicions are correct: Everything isn't as it appears to be in the huge castle!

Aug 19 2002 4:00PM 066 - 'V' For Vitamins
The Skipper can no longer lift heavy objects or do anything physically strenuous. The Professor diagnoses his problem as a vitamin deficiency. The castaways' lack of vitamins threatens to strike them down one by one, the biggest first! The situation appears hopeless until Gilligan finds an orange tree in the jungle. Unfortunately, only one orange remains. Gilligan cuts his orange into slices, offering one to each of the castaways. The Professor knows that one slice will not do anyone much good. He suggests they give the orange to the one person who needs it most. Determining who most needs the orange's vitamins proves to be impossible and a waste of time!

Aug 19 2002 4:30PM 067 - Mr. & Mrs. ???
A radio report indicates that the "minister" who married Mr. and Mrs. Howell is a fraud. All marriages performed by him are null and void. Therefore, Mr. and Mrs. Howell aren't really married! Mr. and Mrs. Howell divide all their belongings and move into separate quarters until they can be properly married. Mrs. Howell insists that everyone address her by her maiden name and treat her with the respect due to a single woman. Gilligan suggests that the Skipper marry the Howells. As the Skipper of a ship, he has authority to marry couples, but only on water. Gilligan builds a raft which can be pushed into the lagoon and used for the wedding ceremony. For the first time, it appears that one of Gilligan's suggestions will be successful!

Aug 19 2002 11:30PM 068 - Meet The Meteor
A large meteorite lands on Gilligan's Island and threatens the lives of every living thing. (The meteorite's cosmic rays speed up the aging process tremendously and everyone will die of old age within a week.) The Professor, the Skipper and Gilligan, wearing lead clothing for protection against the deadly rays, seek ways of destroying the meteorite. Using the only metal at their disposal, the men construct a special lightening rod. By planting it in the meteorite just before an electrical storm, they hope to destroy the meteorite and save the castaways' lives.

Aug 20 2002 4:00PM 069 - Up At Bat
Gilligan follows a rolling coconut into an unexplored cave and emerges with a bat bite on his neck. He then becomes obsessed with the superstition that he will now inevitably change into a vampire. Professor and Skipper refuse to believe this, but feel they should keep the incident from the others. They send Gilligan to Ginger and Mary Ann to get his bite bathed and bandaged. Ginger compliments Gilligan's dashing looks with his bandaged neck and Gilligan picks up her mirror to see for himself. But he sees no reflection! This follows his suspicions that he is becoming a vampire. That night, vampire Gilligan sleepwalks into the Howells' hut to try to take a bite out of Mrs. Howell's neck. The Professor brews an "anti-vampire lotion" to dispel Gilligan's silly notions. The next morning, the Skipper peers into Gilligan's hammock and is greeted by the shrill squeaks of a giant live bat!

Aug 20 2002 4:30PM 070 - Gilligan Vs. Gilligan
Gilligan is suspected as the culprit behind the disappearance of Mary Ann's freshly baked pie. He is seen licking the plate clean, but insists he merely tracked the crumbs to the lagoon where he had discovered a stranger eating the pie. Even worse, the stranger happened to look and dress exactly like Gilligan! All are sure that Gilligan is either fibbing or having hallucinations. But Gilligan does have a double on the island -- a foreign spy made to look like Gilligan through plastic surgery. He has been sent to discover what secret experiments the castaways are supposedly involved in by living as they do on the island. The Professor, trying to help Gilligan's frame of mind, deduces that Gilligan's vision was merely a reflection in the lagoon. Gilligan is unconvinced and sets out to find his doppleganger. But the spy captures Gilligan and then substitutes himself amongst the others in order to obtain information on their supposed "project." The group begins to wonder about the new Gilligan's seemingly strange behavior. The Professor concludes that Gilligan is now going through a psychological crisis due to the pie incident. Therefore, everyone must ease his malady by cooperating with whatever he says, does and requests!

Aug 20 2002 11:30PM 071 - Pass The Vegetables Please
Gilligan makes an unusual fishing catch when he discovers a wooden crate at the end of his line and packets of vegetable seeds inside the crate. The castaways plant the seeds in preparation for a big treat. Curiously, the seeds start growing in only three days. And in shapes and sizes uncharacteristic of any normal vegetable. Undaunted, everyone continues to prepare for the feast with the Howell's as self-appointed hosts. After the glorious meal the castaways hear a radio bulletin about a lost crate of vegetable seeds, warning of their potential danger as identified by the label on the crate's lid. Industrious Gilligan has already made the lid into a bench and he cautiously peers beneath to see a label marked: "Danger! Experimental Radioactive Seeds." The Professor advises that constant physical activity is the only chance for survival. Mary Ann, who ate all the carrots, sees a boat way out at sea which the others cannot. The castaways frantically build a bonfire to attract the boat's crew, and they quickly become aware of the various effects the radioactive vegetables are having on them. Gilligan has gained super strength from his spinach and Mrs. Howell has gained abundant energy from all her beets. Before the flames get going however, Mary Ann informs them the boat has passed by!

Aug 21 2002 4:00PM 072 - The Producer
Hollywood producer Harold Hecuba (PHIL SILVERS - "The Phil Silvers Show") makes an emergency landing on Gilligan's Island just as Ginger hears a radio bulletin that he is on a worldwide talent search. The egomaniacal Hecuba informs the castaways that a rescue plane will soon come for him, but the castaways soon find themselves having to submit to his arrogant orders and selfish whims as they wait for the plane to arrive. Hecuba first makes the Howells relinquish their accommodations and become his maid and butler. Then Ginger plays an assortment of characters in an audition, but Hecuba laughs at her efforts, making Ginger feel as though her return to Hollywood would be a flop. When Ginger resolves never to leave the island under any circumstances, the castaways plan a musical version of Hamlet to showcase her talents. They rehearse secretly so they can present the show for Hecuba. But the producer is awakened by the music, and, unable to restrain himself, announces that he will personally be taking charge of all rehearsals. The castaways are delighted and Ginger is encouraged. But Gilligan discovers Hecuba has vanished from the island the next day. Guest Star: PHIL SILVERS

Aug 21 2002 4:30PM 073 - Voodoo
While exploring an island cave, Gilligan discovers ruins of an earlier civilization. When he makes gifts of the objects, the castaways discover that the relics are cursed! Strange things begin happening to the castaways as each loses a personal belonging. All the objects have been stolen by a witch doctor (EDDIE LITTLESKY) who toys with voodoo dolls representing the castaways, causing them all sorts of discomfort. Worse yet, the Professor becomes a zombie! The other castaways try every trick they know to bring him back to his senses. Finally, they decide that the only way to revive the Professor is to return all the relics to the cave and make peace with the evil spirits. When Gilligan and the Skipper return the relics to the cave, they get a rude surprise. Guest Star: EDDIE LITTLESKY

Aug 21 2002 11:30PM 074 - Where There's A Will
Mr. Howell revises his will, leaving each castaway a valuable piece of his estate in appreciation for the friendship they've shown him during his "internal disorder of the gastronomic tract." The castaways decide to hold a surprise feast in his honor, but Mr. Howell mistakes their efforts to kill a wild pig as efforts to kill him for his money. When Mr. Howell overhears the group planning to "cut the pig's throat," he thinks they're talking about him and he moves to the other side of the island. However, Mrs. Howell confronts the castaways and she learns the truth. They then all go in search of the missing Mr. Howell. Tracking pieces of his apparel along the way, they are shocked to discover Mr. Howell's hat floating in a quicksand pit. Filled with sorrow the castaways hold an impressive funeral service, eulogizing their lost friend and tearing up their copies of the will. Meanwhile, Mr. Howell watches in bewilderment from atop a nearby tree.

Aug 22 2002 4:00PM 075 - Man With A Net
Famous butterfly collector, Lord Beasley (JOHN MOGIVER), appears on Gilligan's Island to catch the world's rarest specimen: the Pussycat Swallowtail. When the creature is captured, Beasley will fire a flare notifying a boat from a neighboring island to pick him up. He also agrees to take the castaways with him at that time. The Professor, afraid that it might take years to catch the specimen, suggests that the castaways assist Lord Beasley in his quest. His Lordship then proceeds to put the group through an elaborate series of extremely difficult tasks. Desperate for rescue, the Howells try to bribe Beasly to fire his flare gun, and Ginger tries to seduce the newcomer with disappointing results. The Professor almost becomes friends with the determined Beasley when he learns a few facts about butterflies and tries to impress the collector. But Beasley discovers the Professor's fakery. Beasley, angered at the castaways' attempts to trick him into saving them before his butterfly is captured, orders his new assistants to begin stalking the object of his devotion. The Skipper and Gilligan take drastic action: They paint the wings of a plain butterfly to look just like the Pussycat Swallowtail! Sharing their good fortune with Beasley, the collector is overjoyed and declares the quest complete. They wait for him to fire the flare just as rain starts to fall. Guest Star: JOHN MOGIVER

Aug 22 2002 4:30PM 076 - Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
The Skipper warns Gilligan not to work so hard doing everyone else's laundry, otherwise he'll become old before his time. When Gilligan wakes up and discovers his hair has turned white, he's terrified that the Skipper must be right. Gilligan hears the professor surmise that a rare tropical disease has turned Gilligan into a 98-year-old man, and he is gong into a state of senility. Not hearing that the Professor's hypothesis is actually a very slim possibility, Gilligan believes that he will soon die and he gathers the castaways around to read his will. Hoping to put Gilligan's psyche back to its young self again, Mary Ann tries to awaken the young man's fancy while Ginger also shows Gilligan how youthful he still is. That night, as Gilligan sleeps, Mrs. Howell and the others dye Gilligan's hair back to its normal color. The next morning he wakes to discover he's now bald!

Aug 22 2002 11:30PM 077 - Ring Around Gilligan
The Professor has discovered evidence that there is an ocean current passing the island and instructs everyone to build a raft. He hopes the castaways will be carried into commercial shipping lanes and be picked up by a boat. Gilligan finds a ring and thinks it's very valuable and wears it. That night, while Gilligan sleeps, the ring starts to flash and awakens him. Gilligan mysteriously walks into a cave in the jungle in a hypnotic trance. There he meets Dr. Boris Balinkoff (VITO SCOTTI - "The Godfather"), who has secretly landed on the island and guided Gilligan by means of remote control. He mesmerizes Gilligan into obeying his every command. Balinkoff then psychically manipulates each of the castaways and makes them unwittingly chop their raft to pieces. Afterwards, each blames Gilligan and they make him rebuild it. Dr. Balinkoff is now sure of his power over all of them as he prepares to make the castaways his accomplices in the "most fantastic crime of all time!" Guest Star: VITO SCOTTI

Aug 23 2002 4:00PM 078 - Topsy Turvy
The castaways hunt for bamboo sticks to protect themselves against headhunters. Gilligan bumps into a tree, causing his vision to blur. The Professor then discovers that a special berry grows in their region which has "remarkable curative properties for optic disorders." Everyone goes frantically searching for the berries to help Gilligan. Unbeknownst to the castaways, the headhunters are following their every move. The Professor makes a medicinal solution from the berries. When Gilligan drinks the potion, he opens his eyes and now sees everything double! The Professor requires even more berries for his new "prescription." The Howells, returning with armloads of berries, are ambushed by the headhunters and dragged to a stockade. Once there, the Howells find Ginger and Mary Ann in the same predicament. The Professor gives Gilligan his new solution to drink. When Gilligan says he sees four of everything, the Professor nervously tells him to dilute the solution with water. Gilligan's normal sight finally returns just in time for him to see headhunters creep up behind the Professor and the Skipper!

Aug 23 2002 4:30PM 079 - The Invasion
While fishing in the ocean, the Skipper and Gilligan catch an attaché cast bearing the words "Property of U.S. Government." A pair of handcuffs hang from the handle. The Professor feels that someone will come looking for the case and will rescue the castaways. They refrain from looking inside the case as it probably contains "top secret material." Each castaway sneaks over to the Professor's hut at night to peek inside the case, but he catches each one before they can see inside. Forbidding anyone to go near the case, the Professor smashes his fist on its lid and the case pops wide open. Inside, the castaways spy a folder labeled "U.S. Defense Plans Against Enemy Attack." The Professor warns the castaways that the case has probably been lost by a secret agent while defending his valuable information against enemy agents. Now the enemy agents are sure to trace the case to the island. Gilligan goes to bury the case for safekeeping and inadvertently locks himself in the handcuffs!

Aug 24 2002 11:30PM 081 - And Then There Were None
While Gilligan and Mary Ann hang up a clothesline, Mary Ann suddenly disappears. The Professor fears that headhunters from a neighboring island have abducted her. Splitting into two groups, the castaways go in search of Mary Ann. Returning without finding her they discover that Ginger has now mysteriously disappeared. Because it's the women who have been abducted, the Professor feels that the headhunters must want them as brides and they are now likely to try and get Mrs. Howell. The Professor plans to find the two women by following the headhunters, using Gilligan, disguised as Mrs. Howell, as a decoy. While the men watch, they hear Mrs. Howell scream and dash toward the lagoon to head off the headhunters' escape. There, the Professor notices that there are no canoes is sight, no footprints and no landing marks to be seen. He deduces that there must not have been any visitors to the island at all. Obviously, one of the castaways has gone crazy from living on the island for so long and developed a personality disorder.
