"Number 5 Is Alive" If you grew up in the 80's you probably remember Short Circuit as the top rated movie of 1986. Short Circuit is actually my favorite movie because it is so funny and the real star of the movie is Number 5 the robot who becomes a friend to Ally Sheedy's character Stephanie Speck and the scene where Number 5 goes on a chase to stop the two people who are searching for him while Number 5 drives Stephanie's catering truck is such fun to watch. Singer El Debarge performs the Short Circuit anthem Who's Johnny which is a fun song which tells us Number 5's name is really Johnny and it's a really fun movie to see. I also got Short Circuit 2 which is also great and features Johnny 5 with new characters. Short Circuit should really be remade because it is a funny movie and you surely don't see comedy movies like this today

My mom and I first saw Short Circuit on TV a long time ago and I thought it was really funny and ever since then I wanted to buy it and so I searched for it on DVD and finally got at Walmart. I always thought Disney modeled Wall-E after Number 5 "Johnny" and i'm surprised that the creators of Short Circuit didn't sue Disney for copying the idea for Wall-E. But one thing sticks out that makes Short Circuit a fun movie is that Tim Blaney really brings Number Five to life so well with his comedic voice and it's a shame you don't hear much about Tim Blaney anymore because Tim did an awesome job providing Number Five's voice so well

I watched the movie again the other night. According to Wikipedia, they are planning to make a remake.
Adam the Woo visited the Short Circuit house in Astoria, Oregon. It's now on Airbnb to stay at overnight. It was painted to look like it was in the movie. There's all kinds of memorabilia inside the house. Astoria would be cool to visit for The Goonies house also. He did a filming locations video for it. |
