and "Meego".

(which makes no sence if you think about it. because Bronson Pinchot played Balki on Perfect Strangers of which Family Matters is the spin-off. That means the two shows, PS & FM share the same reality. So they can't have Urkel appearing on Meego, in wihich Pinchot palys a different character. complicated, but understandable, isn't it?

Why not? Belita Moreno played two different roles on Perfect Strangers.

Family matters is not a spinoff of Perfect Strangers because the show fAmily matters never made any reference to Perfect strangers-You never hear Harriet mention how she missed working with Larry and Balki-So Family Matters and Perfect Strangers just crossover roles-That's it-not a spin off

Default it was indeed a spinoff

Just because Harriette never mentioned Larry and Balki in FM doesn't mean that it's not PS' spinoff.
She kept working at the Chronicle and mentioned her job once in a while.
She was a regular in PS (or recurring) who was spun-off to start her own show. Family Matters is a Perfect Strangers' spinoff.

Yeah, it's a spinoff of "Perfect Strangers". It has the same character, and her husband was in an episode, so that would clearly point to it being a spinoff.

Bronson was also on the last ABC season of "Step by Step" as Jean Luc, so if SBS, FM, PS, and Meego shared the same reality, then there would be three people who look alike.

My personal opinion is that a show is only a spinoff from another show if the star fro the parent show either appeared or mentioned in the spinoff. Like Laverne and sHirley had the appearance of fonzie, And he also was in the pilot of the spinff Mork and Mindy-Also there wasn't a transition between PS and FM-now if you can tell me how PS started family matters then maybe i will believe otherwise. until then these shows are crossovers

Technically a spinoff is a show featuring a character from another series, and FM had two characters that were on PS (Harriett Winslow and Carl who was in one episode of PS). It wasn't a crossover because Harriett was on PS before there ever was a FM so how could they make a crossover with a show that hadn't been created at the time? Also, they did mention the Chicago Chronicle on the show a few times, which is where she worked on Perfect Strangers.

Really? Family Matters is a spin-off of Perfect Strangers? I did not know that.
I saw Urkel's appearance on Full House.

You probably didn't know Family Mattrs was a spinoff of Perfect Strangers because there is never any referance made to PS in any episode of Family Matters. I'm the same way, i didn't know either and the only way a person would have known is by watching PS. So if a person never seen PS, they would never know that FM is a spinoff.

well, I've seen PS before. I haven't seen every episode though. I probably missed the episode with references to FM.

Well Harriet Winslow was the elevator operator where larry and Balki worked. So she was seen in several episodes and seen in only one episode with her husband carl winslow.
