How come Archie or Edith never went to see George's and Weezie's Deluxe Apartment in the Sky? For those of you who were over 16 in 1975, Were yo expecting archie and edith to travel to mahattan to see george and louise?

You know that is a really good question. You think they would've had crossover episodes. I guess it was because Archie and George weren't that friendly toward each other. I guess Edith couldn't convince him to take her. You know how she had to go behind Archie's back in order to get the plane tickets for them to go out to California to see Mike and Gloria.

Edited- I just saw another post and the Jeffersons did visit the Bunkers, but the Bunkers never visited the Jeffersons. I guess I'll stick with my last explanation about Edith couldn't convince Archie to take her. *shrugs*

I remember goerge and weezie going back to visit te bunkers but not together. George went back to visit in 1978, and Louise went back in 1979

Are you talking about gloria and mike visting the jeffersons? Because if so, Mike and Gloria really didn;t talk to the jeffersons that much-it was only Archie and Edith. So i really couldn't see mike and gloria visting the jeffersons.

Mike and Gloria wery very close to Lionel Jefferson. Thouh it would have been strange to see Mike a Gloria visit Lionel when he was played by Damon Evans.

My thoughts are when a series "spins off" it literally "spins off." They want to let the new show breathe without support. I always thought it was funny when Edith and Louise said goodbye. It was like Louise was moving to CA or Europe or something. Queens isn't THAT far from Manhattan. So...we can assume the visited, but the writers had to move on with plots and not "go backwards" with old memories of where the show originated from.

But George and Louise returned to All in the Family, so they did go backward. Archie and Edith should have appeared on the Jeffersons.

Should have....nah. I wouldn't say they "should have" or "needed to have." It just would be fun for fans of the show, but it wasn't necessary to plot. I try to visualize an episode with Archie and Edith hangin' in the Jefferson crib, a lap of luxury compared to their humble home. It might have been a funny ep had it happened. With Archie sizing things up, and perhaps feeling even more inferior. But alas, the writers had other plans, and it's always possible C O' C didn't want to do it.
