I've been collecting images of Sally Struthers, mostly from Season 1 of AITF, so I thought I would share them
in this thread. Her appearance as Gloria changed the most of the stars through the run of the series, as a young cast member going forward. We'll see how Gloria appeared with her shorter hairstyles. There are some really beautiful looks coming up here, she could rock the curls! These first 2 color photos may look like reversed images, but actually they're unique. Note how one of Sally's curls covers her eyebrow in the 2nd image. She looks so lovely, her smile is fantastic. Really attractive: Here Sally displays nice laughter. I think it's not easy to look great with those very tight curls at that relatively short length, but it certainly works for her: A very fun cast photo. Sally's curls are not as tight as we saw above. Her hair is parted strongly on her right, and with this style there's usually a barrette holding her tresses on the other side. I like the style, it's nice to have straighter hair on top combed to one side, going into the curls: Love this image, Sally's curls are accentuating her eyes, which are so beautiful. Her face is really pretty: From the same photoshoot, we see that Sally has quite a nice body. Her overall appearance is strikingly attractive: |

She definitely looked great with curly hair in the early episodes.

Thanks, I hope you're enjoying seeing these. I like doing uploads like this because oftentimes I'll notice little things I'd overlooked. Here's one more group:
Sally is playing quite an elegant bride. An impressive look with her dress & veil, and I like the silk choker. Curls and spiral curls to spare, wow: This is a 1971 magazine so we know it's an early AITF photo; likely we're seeing Sally in a much more natural hairstyle prior to having curlers do their magic. Her hair in front is long enough to be swept upward easily. Really neat to see. Nice color, I forgot to mention earlier. Looking pretty: Here's Sally with definite side parting of her hair once more, as I mentioned earlier, with some tresses coming into her left eye for a nice, seductive appearance. She looks good in an everyday blouse & pants outfit, I like her overall look: Here's a relatively straight hairstyle. Still some subtle waviness / curling though, and again parted on her right. A passionate lady -- Rob Reiner was fortunate to be the beneficiary of embraces like this: This is a nice overhead view. At this point there's some waviness; small curls seem to at the very ends only. Sally's nails are much longer now --compare with the last image in the first post (with the balloons). The producers seem to have gotten a lot of mileage out of that blouse, but here Sally wears an interesting top over it: The color of Sally's hair is really going bright in the next image, and she is moving toward long hair. Now it's parted on her left, with a barrette visible on her right. The bouncy curls on the ends really set off this longer style nicely. Cute expressions: I hope to show some more early AITF looks for Sally Struthers. As TVFactFan once observed, at times both she and Adrienne Barbeau on Maude (as daughter Carol) were both wearing some fashionable knee-high boots in the 1970s, a nice fashion for young women. |

Sorry, I was never into Gloria. I thought she was annoying. I'm one of the few that thought the series improved without her and the Meathead.

She's a great interview. In an 1˝ hour one I listened to she said she had a brief fling with Elvis.

Elvis stories make for some great listening. I've spent quite a bit of time watching YouTube videos where his former lovers are interviewed, like Linda Thompson. It's really fascinating to hear how the romance started and developed. Elvis certainly got involved with some real hotties...! |

An early AITF episode featuring cousins Gloria (Sally Struthers) & Carol (Adrienne Barbeau) would have been quite interesting viewing.

I'm looking forward to studying Adrienne, very memorable as Carol on Maude and also I was excited when she did the 1982 Swamp Thing movie. I used to watch Maude first-run, but back then the politically charged things went over my head.
I made a couple of screencaps of Sally as Gloria today from Season 1, Ep. 5, originally airing in Feb. 1971. The quality of "girl next-door" comes to mind: |

The character's good looks was overshadowed by her personality because they had her acting like a 8 year old

Here are some nice new screencaps from Episode 1, with emphasis on having
a look at Sally's body. Great-looking outfit consisting of a miniskirt & boots: |

I don't want to crap all over your thread, but this is one actress whom my opinion of, never improved. Perhaps as some have said, it's the result of the role she played being anti-seductive. But by the time she got around to the famine relief commercials I was thankful to have a remote control at my fingertips.
Those of you who like her, have you seen the 1972 movie The Get Away That's like the one appearance where I feel she was properly cast. (great Jack Dodson role, too) |

Pretty Sally Struthers & Rob Reiner were an odd pairing looks-wise. Without his toupee it would of been even worse. But acting chemistry-wise the characters were pure classic tv magic together up until the show tanked.
