In the episode where Wally hadn't used his typewriter for 2 years gave justification for Ward and June to justify why Beaver should receive it. This is the same rationale why Beaver should freely give away his electric train set in another episode.
In my house, I (the youngest) never received any older siblings' personal belongings. Even if they were not being used. |

Not only had Wally not used the typewriter, it was broken. Beaver had it repaired, by Gus. Two strikes on Wally. Maybe Ward should have suggested sharing it.
Beaver was a mixed-up tween in the case of the electric train. 12 and 13 year olds are torn between being a little kid and trying to be mature. He took the little kid route and locked himself in the bathroom just like he did when he was younger. |

I rarely got possession of my older brother's things, with 2 notable exceptions: Hand-me-down clothes, and bicycles. On a few occasions my brother was given a new bike, having outgrown the old one, and the old one went to me - as I'd grown too and was ready for it.

(Ward to Wally): Since you haven't used Julie Foster in 2 years, we're giving her to the Beaver.
