Lightbulb The "Multi-Moderator" thing

Reference the recent situation with trekky and JamesG in the chit chat forum.

Because you have people listed as "moderator" participating in forums for which it is claimed they have no moderator authority. AND because you have listed in the forum's TOS that members may not contest the rulings of a moderator in the performance of their duties.....can I suggest you employ some readily apparent means to display which boards any given moderator has "incontestable" authority on? Perhaps something in their signature file, just as a generic example.

In the recent collision, I immediately had reservations about how Trekky was treated, but bit my tongue over your TOS provision, out of an abundance of caution that JamesG's actions might have been "in the performance of duty"

Until, that is, I saw PennyLane enter the fray, knowing full well that TJ would never bann a "franchise" member such as PennyLane. Only then finding the comfort to jump upon her bandwagon, and express my opinion as well.

But the way things are currently organized, is very confusing having to wonder if we are witnessing a duly authorized sanction in progress, or just someone operating above their pay level.

Maybe you could create a new smiley and make it available only to moderators when performing official business?

You can find a list under View Forum Leaders near the bottom of the main page.

https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showgroups.php

We currenly have 19 moderators (2 admins). My list is a bit lengthy because I like to receive all the posts sent to my e-mail.

We used to have 30-40 moderators, but I usually remove them after a year or two of inactivity.

I would change it to show the moderator status only on the forums they moderate if I knew how to do it. The moderators are in a separate usergroup.

You can also scroll to the bottom of the forum page and it lists who moderates that specific board. Here's Chit Chat for example.

Thanks! odd that I never noticed that before....
So, by extension ....I guess that no one moderates this particular board?

TJ automatically moderates everything, especially the boards that have no one else. PhoenixAcres was showing you the bottom of Chit Chat index when it is on that page. On the Site Feedback index page, scroll down to the bottom and it shows TJ as the sole moderator.

It was funny because after PhoenixAcres showed me that "Display Options" graphic, I thought he was implying that the functionality was universal....so I scrolled down to the bottom of this page, looking for either a similar graphic, or a link titled "Display Options" that would open such a graphic.

And spent quite a while seeking before becoming discouraged, and looking on other boards.

So, my reply back to him was sort of a "every board besides this one, eh?" sort of quip.

At least now I know who authored the assembly instructions for the swingset I bought for my kids a few years back...

It only shows on the main page for that particular forum. Sorry if I wasn't clear. For some reason once you open a thread that information disappears.

It's okay man. It was just embarrassing to myself how long I spent looking for it, before concluding it wasn't here

Then upon looking elsewhere Bam!

But it's nice to know that such a resource IS available
