The Andy Griffith Show Launched Howard Hesseman's Career

Long before his starring roles on WKRP in Cincinnati and Head of the Class, Howard Hesseman's acting career started with two guest appearances on The Andy Griffith Show in 1968 during the color years. I like many generally don't care for the color era much but will want to check out "Sam for Town Council" and "Goober Goes to an Auto Show" at some point. His character was named Don Sturdy.

I'm sure I've seen both of these episodes several times, but never recognized Howard Hesseman at all.
