Default Mayonnaise

I was watching the Mayo Bowl. Maryland beat NC State (like you didn’t already know that), and they were doing the usual bits in this game where the players, coaches, and announcers give their thoughts on mayonnaise, like it, love it, or hate it. For instance, one puts it on spaghetti, someone else uses it on corn on the cob.

Anyways, that long winded intro is to ask your thoughts on mayonnaise.

By the way, the winning coach in this game gets dumped with a bucket of mayonnaise, so I assume each coach is rooting for the other team to win.

I don't mind it if it's used in recipes such as coleslaw or ranch dressing. I can't stand it as condiment and have always been bewildered as to why anyone would slather it all over a hamburger or hotdog.

I love mayo on a sandwich or mixed with tuna, egg or coleslaw ! Agreed, I'm not too fond of mayo on a hotdog or hamburger either ! I know people who swear by mayo on their hotdog, they love it ! Mustard for me on a hotdog, ketchup on a hamburger !

I love mayo. One of my favorite dressing recipes is mayo, mustard, lemon juice, and sugar. It’s great for chicken salad.

I put mayo (or Miracle Whip) in pasta salads, which I'm much more likely to make over the summer & eat cold. Other than that, I will put some on a chicken sandwich if it's pretty plain otherwise.

I like mayo, and mustard on sandwiches, in moderation. I want to accentuate the taste of the meat, not hide it. So many restaurants want to just flood on the sauce, that it often makes me suspect they are hiding something, such as inferior meat.

So when going to Subway for example, I always emphasize "one line of mayo, one line of mustard running the entire length of the sandwich".....and get some pretty odd looks in return.

I like it only with chicken. Since we were out of BBQ sauce, I had to use the last packet of mayonnaise for some chicken nuggets. It did the job.

Can't stand the stuff! I prefer Miracle Whip.

I like a little mayo on a lot of foods, not heavy amounts, and a good quality.

Miracle Whip is like using Margarine instead of the real thing. Interesting...
