I know that this won’t stay unanswered very long!
What’s the Season 4 episode where both Ward AND June were rude to Eddie, and had to storm out the door….. only to apologize to him at the end—- and Eddie said, “oh I understand. My dad always told me to make allowances for the way people are.” They settled amicably, until….June said “What did he mean by ‘the way people are’?” Ward tells her, in so many words, that they’d been “had again” by Eddie! That’s one of those exchanges that don’t get to you early on, but that was pure gold! cd |

That's in Chuckie's New Shoes. The exchange could have been in the tag scene, or right before it.
Ward and June had both been short with Eddie, as they were heading out the door to pick up Beaver, who initially thought he had lost Chuckie. |

Cool. Isn’t this the ep that has gotten a bad rap? I can understand the poor plot—but the ending made up for everything…

Yep, it's not one of the best, for sure.
Some episodes, like "Shoes", are saved by a great scene. For instance, in Beaver the Bunny (when 12 or 13 year old Jerry, who in reality would be at seventh grade level, has to don this costume), Lumpy comes over to pick up Wally and Beaver, and he (Lumpy) has some great zingers when he sees Beaver in the bunny suit. Then when June enters he says Beaver looks "stunning" in the outfit. I'm just now recalling Marjorie Reynolds' over-acting in "Shoes." Despite its faults the episode is still viewable, unlike that silly Puddin' episode from the first season. It's been awhile since I've sat thru that one! |

“BtB” is cringeworthy.
