Default I can't believe no Christmas episode from LITB

This was a classic family show and I don't think they ever made a Christmas episode. I have the whole series on DVD but it's been some time since I watched it. I wonder why they never made a Christmas episode??

My Three Sons never had a Christmas episode either -- and with 12 seasons, the series ran twice as long as LITB....! M3S did do a b/w Thanksgiving ep however.

Brady Bunch had one Christmas episode in the first season and nothing after that.

Actually they did , sort of. Season 1 , The haircut . When Beaver lost his haircut money and Wally gave Beaver a really bad haircut, he was to be an Angel in a Christmas pageant , so it was the worst time something like this would happen !

At the end the children ( including Beaver in a stocking cap) were at the pageant singing a Christmas Carol!

They definitely could have done one in the first few seasons. This promotional photo is the closest we got for the original series.

They did a Christmas themed episode on The New Leave it to Beaver in 1986.

I was still working on my post before I read yours. I wouldn't call that a full Christmas themed episode. I'm not sure when they took that promotional photo.

The Haircut aired in October 1957, and it was funny to see Beaver singing with the stocking cap.

The promo photo makes me think they planned a full Christmas episode, but for some reason it didn't happen.

Wow! That is strange ! I thought it at least was first aired around Christmas !

Funny episode, I guess they couldn't think up any worse scenario of Beaver having a horrible haircut for , an Angel with really bad hair !

Yes, really funny. It must take some fancy makeup and/or prop work to make that stuff happen. There was another similar happening on Dennis the Menace, where a shocked barber took a slice out of Mr. Wilson's hair. Again, more wig work.

Thanks for posting that promo picture of them around the Christmas tree. Never seen that photo before.

Would have been good if they had done a Christmas themed episode since they did mention going to church in a couple of other episodes in various seasons.

Nope, they never did. In the old days when the producers knew that going into reruns/syndication it was easier to not address topical things or they'd be afraid their Christmas episode would air the wrong times of the year. That said, yes, plenty of other shows did do a Christmas episodes that we fortunately get to see the past 2 weeks!
