I kinda lost one of my helpers, he would almost do things for me in an instant and now he just announced he brought home a puppy and his life has changed, The puppy is first and he said he was up almost all night last night ==== some of you probably know about that and raising a puppy.

He's been talking about getting a rescue puppy and he did yesterday....he may have forgotten what puppies are all about when one takes one on. He WAS foot loose and fancy free....

My daughter still does not leave her almost 1 yr old doggie alone.

A New Baby....

Ah sweet work. My friend has already lost a couple night's sleep and he just told me had to buy some fencing to install on his balcony so the pup can go out.

Then he said the rescue people will take him back if he does not work out and I know my friend wants a buddy.....so he'll work at it to train him.

Just got a note from my friend and he's ready to return the pup, sounds like just more than he thought it would be. Maybe he can get a 1 or 2 yr old dog in a couple yrs or so.

Your friend made a dumb decision and the Pup suffered- why doesn't this surprise me? Maybe he needed some grape seed extract.

The pup didn't suffer, he got some TLC for 2-3 days but my friend realized they were not to be. The pup will be placed where it will be better. And what about the dogs that go to "foaster" homes until a real home is found for them. Do they suffer?

Why do you think humans get divorced, not compatible....many would love a divorce but can't afford one and they are in TOO DEEP.

Grape Seed Ex comment is uncalled for. P.C. you have hit me with some strong attacks I've noticed.

Well, my friend tried to make it work and had the pup for about 6 days and said he spent about a 1000 and quality food, fencing he bought, trip to Vet and the cost of adoption fee, which he did not want back. And then the sleepless nights.

My friend had not owned a puppy in maybe 30 or more years and he was free to go and do and sleep and he made a mistake in doing this.

The pup will be placed in a good hme with a YARD... that is what the dog needs. My friend still has hopes to own a CA house but we'll see.....anything in the area where we live (near the ocean) starts at $1M ....

I bit my lip for the time up until now. A tool I found remarkable for helping pups deal with separation anxiety is just an old fashioned wind-up alarm clock. The noisier (tick tick tick etc) the better.

Keeps them company, focus their attention as they adjust to their new digs

I've heard about the clock thing, but I think all in all, my friend was not in a position to be tied down to raising a dog from a pup.

And just the plain fact that the pup will be a Big Dog, I believe it has Mastif in the mix. My friend was not thinking, went with emotions, how cute the pup is, and not to where it will be down the road.,

At least he did the right thing and returned the Pup to a respectable place. I saw a horrifying PSA about a Family who enjoyed a puppy at first, and then got tired of him (A voiceover said something like,"When you get tired of your puppy, you can just throw him away!" The father , with a sneaky look, put puppy in a box and threw him in a river!

I think the ad said something like,"Please don't do this. We'll take unwanted pets." I think the ad was for ASPCA.

I know my friend did the right thing, and just got a note from a long time friend who has always had house pets, mostly cats when she worked, the dogs when she retired. So she is a year older than me and loves her animals, I'm not an animal lover, but would never harm one ... she was walking her dog while using her walker and the dog sprang after something and brought my friend down on concrete and broke her hip,....she is in the h ospital now 2 weeks and had a partial hip replacement and now insurance is fighting about paying where to send her. She needs a lot of work but the fall while walking dog did it, she's fallen other times due to walking dogs and this one did a lot of damage....

Had to mention this as we just talked yesterday when she called me from the hospital....
