Default My Ideal Network Schedule

With changes looming on the horizon, I suspected that I better move quick to beat the cut-off, who knows what changes lurk, etc. So following is my ideal network schedule.

In particular: customary "fright nite" Saturday evening/Sunday morning block, Drama block on Sundays, Western block and Cartoon block Saturday...and the Sunday evening "Cavalcade of Co-Stars" block, intended to feature a rotating selection of co-stars that appear on multiple shows.., For instance it might be Allan Melvin one weekend featured in multiple shows he appears in, and then Susan Oliver the next...etc etc.

In my haste I left a gap on Sunday, 1-2 PM...fill that with Route 66 as well.

I like it. I plan on sharing my network schedule soon. I think it’ll be decent.

All that's missing to keep it unique would be Captain Kangaroo weekday mornings, the original run of 60 minutes on Sunday night followed by The Ed Sullivan Show ( not the chopped up 1/2 hours versions on Decades)

I find it interesting that you mention the public interest and variety type shows, because initially I wanted to include the original Smother's Brothers show, as well as the original Dick Cavett......but didn't because I was concerned that only I would have keen interest?

I find such shows to be informative snap shots, or time capsules of what was going on at the time. Even old variety shows like the Dean Martin show can contain valuable nuggets of history.

Perhaps now that my cherry is gone, I'll create another "ideal network" schedule that includes material such as that?

That's why I like Decades TV. Their original format I didn't like. Seemed like a documentary channel. But now they have a good mix of programs.

As for yours. The Smothers Brothers show coupled with Laugh-in would work well. Both sid current events better than Saturday Night Live.

The Merv Griffith Show or Mike Douglas Show would tie in well with Dick Cavett.

Your Show of Shows and the Colgate Comedy Hour might fit nicely with The Dean Martin Show.

Lots of interesting possibilities.
