A detective had already admitted to finding the girl in the polaroid in a podcast a few years ago. It's brought up here in a different thread on the case.

That link doesn’t say who she was or how she was murdered.

Who said she was murdered? The page only says she has been identified. I'm surprised it took The Doe Network that long to update their page if her identity was known a few years ago.

According to TheCars1986's post he linked, they spotted the girl at a Florida flea market selling stuffed alligators.

IIRC, they found her in the early to mid 90's. Maybe it simply wasn't publicized pre-internet?

The girl and boy in that photo were most definitely murdered by their abductor. Just look at their facial expressions. They were being tortured.

If they found her in the early to mid 90's, then she wasn't murdered. It would be interesting to hear the story about why the photo was taken. Why would they make a hoax photo?

I wonder if A Current Affair and UM would have featured the case without the Polaroid photo angle. It's much less mysterious and creepy without it.

I don’t believe the photo is a hoax. There’s not enough information to confirm that the girl was found alive. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, people have claimed to have "identified" her for years, but none of the stories are really that credible.

Why does the Doe page have three photos of clearly three different females & treating them as if they are the same person? The train one is clearly a joke as she is 'bound' by bog roll, the one from a decade or so back looks like a BDSM photo.

Frankly amazing that the girl with the boy were ever linked to Calico as anybody can see the difference in age & facial characteristics & mind boggling that if this girl was identified back in the 1990's that LE didn't bother to dispel it at any point, as it has totally distracted from the case-being the big selling point to UM, the media & armchair detectives.

Nobody knows anything. There is no context to the photo-they could be kidnap victims that have never been identified, or it could be somebody playing a prank.

Apparently these types of photo were very popular in the US in the late 1980's & early 1990's. Marilyn Manson said he & his then girlfriend used to drop them around in various places.

Assuming if the woman was found, then she was also able to give details about who the male child in the photo & of who took the picture & why.

Was she tortured before or after she finished the V.C. Andrews novel lying next to her?

They tortured them in between chapters by squirting them with the squirt gun next to the boy.

Wasn't there a similar photo of a girl and boy bound that was identified a number of years back.. They thought one of them might have been a missing person.. But it wound up that it was a polaroid of a brother and sister playing a game or something?

Florida is ringing bells on that one.. But.. Then again.. Come up with any insane story and most people have their mind immediate go to Florida..
