That would be really good if they did release the first season on DVD.
They have done with other Tandem shows so I suppose there is a small chance they could in the future.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they released the first season on DVD within the next few years since other shows owned by Colombia-Tristar such as "All in the Family", "The Jeffersons", and "Sanford and Son" have been put on DVD.

Ditto

I kind of get the feeling that DS will come out on DVD with FOL.

I hope you all are right. I for some reason just don't see it happening. Don't know why.

nice, but unrealistic.

I could see each season retailing around $25 tho, which isn't very bad, basically $1 an episode. I know the first season of MAD ABOUT YOU came out on DVD this week, and some places are selling it as low as $16.99, which comes to less than a buck per show... a great price. And the same company that owns the right to MAY owns rights to DS.

I saw that they were releasing "Good Times" by Tandem on DVD and they said similar things to follow so maybe it will soon.

I think it would be quite expensive since there's 24 episodes, while some of the other shows like the All In The Family DVD only have 13 or 14 episodes.

Probably not-Different Strokes was a okay show but not a classic which means a very low chance of appearing on DVD. Sorry

Then why did it last so long? If it was an okay show, it would've lasted a season or two. It lasted longer than that. If shows that only have two or three seasons are getting released, DS might come later on. You never know.

Different Strokes was a show that yu can look at but not in my opinion a collector's item. I don't think it would sell on DVD. But only a small amount of episodes are worth taping like when arnold went on a date with diane and dudley joined them. That episode is funny.

Judging from your previous posts, I wouldn't believe you. Diff'rent Strokes is one of the most popular 80's sitcoms, it is selling very high on VHS, soon I am sure it will head on to DVD. And why come to a Diff'rent Strokes board and say that--I just don't understand you at all.

LOL, this coming from a person who didn't even know Good Times was on VHS? I don't think you will even buy them if you even ask for it.

Well I like the show but just not many of the episodes were worth taping.
