Remember the "Saved By The Bell: The New Class"/"USA High" crossover (so to speak)? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In a rather unmemorable three-episode arc airing during the fifth season of Saved By The Bell: The New Class in the autumn of 1997, Maria, Eric, Katie, Ryan, Liz, and Nicky (along with Mr. Belding and Screech in tow, obviously) all traveled overseas to Paris to spend a month at the prestigious International Academy to brush up on their studies while enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris, as well as getting into trouble and landing in hot water on occasion.

I watched those aforementioned three episodes--"Foreign Behavior," "Forever Affairs," and "Goodbye Paris"--online recently, and my noggin exploded upon discovering that the sets during that three-episode arc were the exact same sets that were in use on another teen/tween sitcom executive produced by Peter Engel, USA High. Not only were the kids' dormitories and the headmaster's office recycled directly from USA High, but also the USA Cafe, the bistro, and the restaurant located at the Eiffel Tower, not to mention a reproduction of the top floor of the Eiffel Tower itself. While I was watching Belding and Screech both make complete asses of themselves (against my better judgment, mind you) throughout that unbearable three-episode arc, I kept wondering--and hoping--when Ms. Dupre, Mr. Elliot, or any of the students from USA High would make a cameo appearance.

Considering that USA High was airing daily on the USA Network while SBTB: The New Class was a staple of NBC's TNBC block every Saturday (coincidentally, USA also aired repeats of SBTB: The New Class alongside USA High), it's not a total surprise Engel wanted both his aging teen and tween audience to watch USA High on USA by transporting the students from Bayside across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris. Just tossing my two pennies into the proverbial fountain, guys and gals...feel free to correct me anytime if I'm totally wrong; in any case, I'd love to hear all of you.
