I love the concept of TVLand and I especially like when they air all those vintage commercials.

I don't get TV Land, but the reason why I think they have ruined TV Land because they only show the first two seasons of shows like The Waltons, The Rookies, Hazel, Donna Reed, Dennis The Menace, Father Knows Best and a couple of others! I wish they would show the episodes from beginning to end, especially The Waltons, where they can show the whole 9 seasons(1972-1981),instead of showing fragmentory episodes! TV Land didn't do all of that at first, but they've sure been uninteresting about it in their website!!! I hope all fans of classic TV can write or e-mail TV Land and complain a little bit about this mess!! What's next, only the first 2 seasons of All IN The Family??!!! I betcha The Waltons Fans like myself are hot under the collar about this too!! So, as Judge Mills Lane says, "Let's Get It On!!!!!!" Do something about this TV Land mess!!!

TV Land as a concept is great because classic TV is practically all I watch. However, I do have some complaints.
#1- They cut WAY TOO MUCH out of their shows. I watched the first Love Boat Movie only to find they cut like 20 minutes out of the original airing. #2- Everything I used to watch is gone and has been replaced with crap I don't like. Therefore I no longer watch TV Land. |

I think TV Land's better than Nick-at-Nite, but it's still in pretty bad shape. They show the same sitcoms like 5 times a day, and they have so many good sitcoms that they never air. If they didn't do Twice As Nice, maybe they could show some more sitcoms that we rarely see. When they did away with Fandemonium Weekend, I pretty much stopped watching TV Land.

I also like TV Land better than Nick-at-Nite because Nick-at-Nite shows WGN/TBS "hand-me-downs" and they don't even air Classic TV anymore. But I agree TV Land does cut many parts out of the shows that they air just to cram more commercials. I don't watch Nick-at-Nite, as of now, but I watch TV Land only for their special programming "Better Living Throught Television" and "TV Land KitSchen" but thats really all. TV Land was great when they started out, with no commercials and network promos and retromercials and airing everything un-cut.

I do not appreciate the fact that TV Land edits their shows a lot. But hey isn't it better than having no show at all?

My opinion of TV Land is their pretty good. They do cut up their shows, but everybody (unfortunatly) does that these days. They show some pretty decent shows that span a lont period of time. I'd rather see some episodeso f "The Donna Reed Show" instead of none at all. It's a double edged sword

1) I do love TVLand. I never had TVLand when it first came on, I wish I did. I'll probably never again see some of the shows you listed (Addams Family, Maude, etc.). I mean, I've seen the shows, but I just never recorded them. I record all I can now, because you never know what will be gone.
2) I HATE how TVLand always gives shows the boot, you know, it's always the SAME ones that area ALWAYS on their lineup, that drives me nuts. (Maude, Addams Family, Chico, etc are all constantly kicked off, etc) 3) I do and I don't like how they repeat the first 30 or so episodes of the Screen Gems deal. I didn't record Donna Reed at first, so I caught it this last time around before it's booted. I mean, I hate how they are skipping so many seasons of shows, but I also like how it gives me, and others, the opportunity to record. I am, and I'm not, happy with TVLand. A few things are good (Kitschen, Better Living Through Television) but others aren't (Twice as Nice, SEVERAL airings of Andy, Gilligan, Beaver, Hillbillies). I just really hate how some shows never seem to get the boot (see above) while others do. I've made plenty of dream schedules, and I have over 60 some shows on the lineup. TVLand is certainly capable of buying the rights to shows again (I think). I dunno, TVLand and N@N are just really pissing me off lately, LOL!! |

And true, TVLand does lose the rights... I just keep seeing the golden opportunity that TVLand has to be the best classic tv channel around, but they just aren't getting it! LOL. Burke Snow Winters (Sorry, don't know your real name), I agree 100%
