it was $39 for 5 years in Cali.

Do they say how much a license would have been back then? I know Ward was trying to get Wally to see how expensive a car would be. I don't remember if that cost was in the figuring too.

All I remember of that discussion was Ward talking about insurance, which Wally hadn't considered.

Current cost here:

The fee to renew your Indiana driver's license will depend on your age and length of your renewal. Valid for 2 years, if you're 85 years old or older: $7. Valid for 3 years, if you're 75 to 84 years old: $11. Valid for 6 years, if you're under 75 years old: $17.50

My car is 3 years old and my most recent registration cost me about $298. Maybe I should start shopping for a new bicycle, at least riding one of those won't incur a fee like that.

Yeah, mine is 3 years old too--registrations are pretty steep, with county wheel tax fees and probably other costs thrown in.
