So drew790 and omegadoom mentioned in the Amazon Seasons 3-12 Episode Guide sticky thread that someone has vandalized Wikipedia's "List of Unsolved Mysteries Episodes" page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...eries_episodes
I happened to come across it myself yesterday as I wanted to look up some information about a case and was shocked to find it in the state it is now. Idk if "Sumanuil" is the guilty party (going by the "View history" page of the article) or if this person came across it in this state too and is trying to fix it up?🤔🤷 And I have no idea how to alert the Wiki administrators to have it corrected. So I wrote a reply to "Sumanuil" on the "Talk" page of the article asking what exactly they're doing since the information that's there present seems to be, as omegadoom said, reflective of the FilmRise series not the original episodes as aired on TV🙄🤦 And omegdoom attempted to undo the edits by Sumanuil, but he's allegedly a senior Wiki editor and so any undoing of Sumanuil's edits is impossible. If anyone knows how to alert Wikipedia's administrators of this issue and have it corrected ASAP it'd be much appreciated since all the hard work UM fans have put into over the years has been completely upended for now!🙏 |

Unfortunately if it is Wikipedia its basically a lost cause. That project has been headed in a bad direction for years now.

Yeah that was real quick wasn't it?!!😅 🙌
"Sumanuil" replied in the "Talk" page of the article thus: "I'm sorry that I was unaware that they had altered episodes so drastically. It would be very helpful if we had the wiki's sources, because we can't really cite fandom.com directly, and everywhere else I can find is cribbing from FilmRise's listings (Sumanuil 05:31, 10 November 2022 UTC)...We don't need an admin. What we need is sources that don't copy FilmRise's listings. And maybe a disclaimer so no one else makes the same mistake" (Sumanuil 05:36, 10 November 2022 UTC). So it seems "Sumanuil" made the unfortunate mistake of assuming the FilmRise version was the original episodes as aired on TV and since the information UM fans have posted on the Wikipedia article over the years doesn't correspond with FilmRise's series assumed it was all wrong and embarked on a solo mission to correct it all🫤 And so I guess s/he learned quickly what UM fans all know that it is the FilmRise episodes that are "suspect" as they are not the original TV episodes and hence it's because of the generosity of UM fans over the years who have had access to the original episodes who have shared them with others and used them to make lists like Wikipedia's article more accurate. Anyway all's well that ends well so thanks to anyone who helped in getting this quickly attended to and corrected!🙏 ***If any mods want to delete this thread be my guest!*** |
