More and more, I've been hearing about this diesel fuel shortage.

Yeah we hear about. This past May we had our last winter of oil and we paid $5.95 a gal here in Massachusetts. We had a bill close to 900.00 dollars. We were nervous to what the coming fall and winter will be like. So we decide to get a 6 new windows for the old windows were about 50 years old. Then get the house insulated. The house was built in 1868 and no insulation put in the those days. The owners heated by fireplace and other limited means. When the oil was $2.35 a gallon it wasn't such a big thing but now. Then thought of a heat pump but have put that on the back burner for want to see what the insulation does for us first Also need to know more and was told heat pumps do better at cooling than heating. Then heard electricity going up 50 percent. All in all we will see if we are warmer this year.

I remember when my parents replaced some windows in their house and it was not an ancient house...

Replacing windows and insulating is the smart thing to do. Old homes etc have tissue paper thin windows and hence more cold coming into the house. Our apt bldg is old and windows pretty bad. And insulation in this old bldg is not great either...but I can't do a thing but put on layers of clothes.

Not clear what you are saying here, inflation I'm hearing will get worse and when things flatten, WHO KNOWS if ever.

The powers in control are manipulating costs at their whims. Gasoline prices arond the country are coming down, CA is down some but always been Higher than the rest of U.S. I'm even finding some groceries coming down in price. Oil companies have made some windfall profits.

A shock today when I ordered a roasted chicken which is usually $9 was $5.

On the weather, we are being hit with cold temps in the last 4 days and rain is predicted, cold here in So Cal is 39 during the night hours. I put my fleece jacket on. And go back to sleep. I'm hearing lows of 19 or so in the high desert towns.....

Weather is Mostly what Mother Nature controls, I think.

Avoid turning on the wall heater until close to 9am....it can get too hot and the cash register climbs with more gas heat. Those who live with electric heat. really PAY.j

I'm in the Northeast, it doesn't get cold and snow like it used to. It's more about rain. I'm in my early 50s, I can remember it snowing and being freezing in the Winter. I remember having to shovel out over a foot and more of snow. It could happen, but it would be odd. It just doesn't happen anymore.

I don't think inflation and the weather are connected in terms anyone can control the weather to impact inflation. It just doesn't get as cold and snow as much as it used too. It's 50 here today. 10 years ago, probably mid 30's. It is getting warmer if anything. It's December, I wore a t-shirt to take in the trash. I own a 3-story house, haven't turned on the furnace once. Just use a Space Heater on low in my bedroom. At night. an electric blanket will save you a fortune (and they are safe now=days. they turn off if they overheat).
