Default Facebombing Andy Griffith

Looking at the TAGS DVD promo on this board's main page the illustrations for the individual seasons.....some of those graphics appear photoshopped.

Specifically Andy's face appears to be inserted for the season 5 (especially), as well as seasons 3, 6, and perhaps even 7 offerings. My suspicion being that evidently someone must have thought the original picture was "unflattering".

Anyone else agree?

Now that I look at them he doesn't look quite right in any of the pictures.

Season 5 appears especially suspect to me. The others are "well, since 5 looks so probable, there's no rule saying the others aren't suspect as well.

Season 5 the head appears too big (compared to the others)...season 6 too small......and 3 and 7 the light shading on his face seems out of whack compared to the other faces in the same picture.

Season 5 looks almost like someone stuck an Andy decal on the cover, imo

Thing that amazes me about A.G. (as well as many of his contemporaries) is the amount of grease he(they) wear in their hair.

Surprised they don't have more of an issue with glare off the lights?

The late, great Sammy Davis, Jr. used to joke about the humongous about of dippity-do he used to grease his hair up with. “I didn’t want to shake hands with people if I had just run my hand through my hair,” he recalled.

And, didn’t the late Jerry Lewis also used to “drown” his hair with some of that “greasy, kid stuff”? Someone once quipped if Jerry Lewis slipped and fell on his head, he’d probably slide across the room like he was a bowling ball rolling down the lane.”

LOL! I realize there is value in that "not one hair out of place" look. I'm probably the antithesis of that because I've never used much of anything. ( yeah, on a windy day I look like a savage). But when I see some of those bed time episodes with them laying there on a pillow, I just think the pillow case might burn like the wick in an oil lamp.

Where I have it bad is if I drive somewhere with the windows open, and forget to check my hair before going into a store....some of the looks I get are pretty amazing.

I always got a “kick” seeing Tom Selleck on an episode of “Magnum, P.I.” where you see Magnum waking up in his bed as the officious Jonathan Higgins is knocking on the door and EVERY strand of hair on the impoverished private investigator’s head is completely in place and almost perfectly coiffed! I mean, whose hair (even Donald Trump’s or Bill Shatner’s) looks THAT good when you first roll out of bed in the morning?

And, speaking of hair, why was Hoss Cartwright so bald, when the other Cartwright men, including Little Joe and ESPECIALLY Father Ben and oldest son Adam had such incredible heads of hair out there on the Ponderosa?

As the great Howard Cosell once said of male pattern baldness, “When you’ve got it, worry about it. When you lose it, forget
it!!!”
